Before I invest in a load of new paints, has anyone used the life color range of paints?, they appear to have a very good range of paints. If so are they any good for brushing?. All noticed they have a primer out is this any good?. Cheers

This is my first post about this build. Building the Revell Type XXI U-Boat. Before I start weathering, I am after some suggestions as to how to weather the kit?. Obviously going to put rust patches here and there above the water line and drain vents. But want to keep it realistic. These U-Boats wouldn't of seen much action as they came to late, doubt they would of had much wear and tear!. At present kit is all glossed with Vallejo Gloss, don't think ill be using it again!. Once weathered I am going to Matt Varnish the kit. Model below. Any advice on how to weather, please let me know. Cheers

I need to sand down and re-gloss a model that has a rough gloss finish to it. Thing is, its most likely to remove the decals by sanding. I can probably remove the decals. But is it ok to keep them stored in water for a few days while I leave the gloss to dry?. Thanks

This has probably done the rounds loads of times!. But is there any alternative to tamiya's own brand thinner?. There own brand thinner is a little hard to get hold of and when i can get hold of it. It is fairly pricey!. Is there anything else i can use that will do the job just as well and hopefully not be any more expensive?. Cheers

Ill look into it!. My main concern is, i start polishing the model, its going to remove the decals. Should it will it?, as i have not applied another layer of gloss over it over the decals. Also, what the best distance to spray any gloss?.

Also, don't have any of that Micromesh. How fine is it?. If I have to buy some don't want to destroy what I have done so far!.

Been glossing a Revell Type XXI U-Boat this weekend. Have noticed that its got a rough texture to it and not smooth you can see in the attached pic. I was using the Vallejo Gloss varnish for this. Any idea why its going rough and not smooth?. Can it be remedied?. I thought it was the varnish. I was going to try and use some Microscale Micro gloss instead. Just worried about mixing the two different varnishes on the model due to possible yellowing etc. How can I get the smooth finish on the model?. Don't want to have to sand it all down and repaint its taken ages to get this far. I got some of the Microscale Microgloss ages ago. Want to use it to gloss a model, but there no instructions on thinning ratios for airbrushing. Any advice?. Cheers

Hello does any one have spare parts 5 and 6 for the Revell Wilhelm Bauer kit?. I just spoke to Revell and they say the kit has now been discontinued and cant supply parts. Cant take kit back either as I bought it months ago. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks

Im in the market for a new compressor. I did have a Revell Standard which was noisy as hell and kind of off putting. I have an Iwata CS Eclipse. But I want a ultra silent compressor. If such a thing exists?. Any recomendations?.

Do you need to prime first or can you get away with applying on bare plastic?.

Do I need to prime before using model master paint or can it go on to bare plastic?.

Got my first load of Testors Model Master paints today. Just wondering anyone who has used them, do you have any advice?. Can they be applied directly to plastic via brush or should i put down a layer of primer first?. Also, do I need to thin them at all for brushing?. Thanks

I stir the paint thououghly and let it stand for a few minutes before brushing. But as soon as i dip the brush in and start applying I get bubbles appearing on the brush. I have this issue, before and after trying a few drops of W&N flow retarder.
