  1. Evening all Anybody else having trouble with Flickr been trying to upload pictures from my laptop all day, I can get onto my photostream but when I hit the upload icon it takes me to a screen with two circles in the middle and a stupid phrase like ' milking butterflies' or 'hearding pandas' I'm not very tech minded so any help would be greatly appreciated 👍 Tim
  2. Ahhh good times ...how very different now there seems to be a tool for everything.. different paint and glue for every nut and bolt . nice to be able to keep it simple every now and then cheers mate👍
  3. Thank you ..it did indeed mate always seems to help actually finishing a kit... instead of it dragging along for ages😳 and due to the lockdown plenty of time to thin the stash a bit👍
  4. Thank you for pointing that out👍 not really an issue for me at this stage like I say quick build to fire up the juices and the kit cost me £8 so not a lot lost.... appreciate your input though👍
  5. Ooooh distinct possibility of that at some stage anyway mate👍🤣
  6. Evening all just a quick build nothing special ...getting the modelling juices flowing during isolation, hope you like IMG_20200410_155855165 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200410_155900982 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200410_160203719 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200410_160218949 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr thanks for looking Tim
  7. Good evening fellow distancers Troubled times indeed, I hope everyone is safe and well and social distancing isn't causing too much stress. With so much free time ive decided to attempt a project ive been thinking about for a while now …… a homage to our hobby..... but how and what? well the first kit I made (like so many of us) was an Airfix Spitfire so lets start with that, Humbrol enamel paints ,one paint brush, an old stanley knife blade(if you were lucky) and glue to melt the plastic together.... hopefully this will bring back some memories! so a rummage though all my model related gubbins resulted in this lot IMG_20200410_193028250 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr also salvaged an old cutting mat....should make a nice base IMG_20200410_194811801 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr cut a piece of wood to size, glue and a bit of a clean up IMG_20200410_194811801 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200410_194832124 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr and voila we are on our way IMG_20200410_195941023 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr I cut up the box and attached the box art to the base....also randomly placed things to represent how most of us started, so this is where we are IMG_20200410_202032358 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr so anything else anyone can think of for the base componants? anything anyone would like to contribute would be welcomed stay safe Tim P.S got something interesting planned for the actual kit.... all will be revealed as soon as the base is done
  8. Great to see you back mate always an absolute pleasure watching your work 👍
  9. Evening all More progress on my simple easy going stress free builds Spitfire.....engine bulkhead fitted and fuselage buttoned up, im going to leave the engine mounts frame in but im not fitting the engine itself a dry fit shows I wouldnt get the top engine panel on if I did IMG_20200223_153614127 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr Cockpit fitted IMG_20200223_165018482 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200223_165101222 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200223_165036700 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr And suddenly it goes pear shaped.....fitting the lower wing aaaannnd IMG_20200223_192457884 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr my own fault I hadn't pushed the cockpit far enough up into the fuselage so some trimming is required IMG_20200223_192520062 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200223_200210643 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr better …. but wait....the trailing edge of the fuselage doesn't match up with the wing the whole thing is just wrong IMG_20200223_200215333 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200223_200331859 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr nothing else for it glue as best as I can then top wing and filler!! I refuse to get stressed, so I will attach the tail to cheer me up a little IMG_20200223_191120293 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr ive seen worse so onwards and upwards onto the firefly.....wings on IMG_20200223_153630516 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr very tight fit but looks good IMG_20200223_153742913 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200223_153747397 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr tail.....not so good IMG_20200223_191026986 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200223_191030911 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr nevermind the filler is coming out anyway and im still smiling.... comments and quips welcome as always Tim
  10. Afternoon all Work is progressing at a stately pace I.P installed in the Firefly IMG_20200221_131405890 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200221_131425158 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr Time to button up the fuselage up ….im going to do this in sections to try and get the best alignment, starting at the tail.... IMG_20200221_132127441 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr And onto the Spit....Cockpit isn't bad seat is awful though IMG_20200220_153108442 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr so I replaced it with an etch from a derelict I had lying about and added a harness also used a P.E instrument panel IMG_20200221_151205369 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr much better I think.....now onto my first niggle in engine bulkhead doesn't fit due to a strange moulding for the petrol cap IMG_20200221_132421894 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200221_132430661 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200221_132521453 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr so out with the grinder....and hey presto, lets just hope its a modelling glitch and not my misinterpretation of the destructions.... IMG_20200221_154952025 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr back to the firefly and some seam cleanup will be required IMG_20200221_151445318 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200221_151428623 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr and the Spit IMG_20200221_161356680 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr that's all for now comments and quips welcome as always Tim
  11. It's a lovely kit for a nice relaxing easy going sort of build ...I always think the Eduard boxings deserve going that extra mile to show what truly great kits they are,so it's nice not to worry so much and the price definitely helps👍
  12. Cheers mate ... noticed a few sink marks already ..but overall I am quite impressed especially as the kit cost less than a tenner👍
  13. I think I'm just going to stick with the box art markings it's been a while since I built a Spit so i will stick with what I know👍 So nothing serious to be wary of then?
  14. Thanks for correcting me on that mate... whatever it is it could do with a good meal😳im gonna have to make a decision as to whether I should use it or not...I'm leaning towards not!🤔
  15. Cheers mate ....I'll certainly keep an eye on that canopy everything is fitting quite well so so far,a few seams and gaps need some attention but nothing too serious 👍🏻
  16. Evening all Ok since I finished the Dirty ive been struggling to find a meaningful next project, so a delve into the stash produced the Tamiya Mosquito with a host of aftermarket goodies, but for some reason I just couldn't get into it,i huffed and puffed for a week or two before giving up and packing everything back in the box...….. back to perusing the stash and my eyes lingered on this IMG_20200218_183746912 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr well ive never attempted a FFA aircraft or a Special Hobby kit before so I dived in...… progress so far, the fit isn't half bad but the instructions can bat a tad.....vague lovely resin undercarriage bay IMG_20200218_183959523 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200218_184026431 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200218_184053557 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200218_184249383 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200218_184139983 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200218_184147791 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200219_210521417 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr im definitely not going for 100% accuracy more a nice relaxing stress free build...…...so to complicate matters a little I picked up a Spitfire on King Kits for £8 and dived into that too IMG_20200218_184438619 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr seems straightforward enough IMG_20200218_184504506 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200218_184516346 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr possibly the most aenemic griffon ever IMG_20200218_184555344 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr IMG_20200218_184613081 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr don't know if I should try and fit the engine(I use that term very loosly) IMG_20200218_184629342 by Tim Dyson, on Flickr so that's it, full speed ahead thoughts and comments welcome as always Tim
