  1. Thx all for the comments I will try to answer as good as I can keeping in mind that my native language is Dutch. First the chipping. I used different methods on both models. On the A-7E I used diluted Humbroll 32 painted on with a fine brush. With diluted I mean that I first dip the brush in white spirit and then put on the paint. Mixing them together in a small cup. The result should be that you can make very fine scratches. If you don't thin the paint you won't be able to paint such fine scratches and spots. On the P-47D I used Karisma colored pencils. On the top silver 949 and on the underside blacklead 8B. I do not draw, I just make a tapping motion with the point on the model thus creating the chips. I find that on dark colors the silver works best and on lighter colours the blacklead. You can see the difference on the prop where I chipped the black with silver and the yellow tips with blacklead. The streaks and staining is nothing else then raw umber and black oil paints. The streaking was done by putting small dots of black on the starting point and then taking a wide brush moistened in white spirit. Putting it down right before the black dot and pulling the brush over the dot leaving a nice streak. If it is to heavy you can brush over it a couple of times. The white spirit in the brush will de solve the paint and creat a nice stain. But as with everything, practice makes the master. Or something like that Hopes this helped. And if not ...... ask me again Eric
  2. Hey guys. My first time in this forum. Have been around on hyperscale and ARC though. Well here I am with my two latest builds. First one I spend almost the whole of 2007 on. And the second one was, for me , a quicky. Only took me two months to finish Here we go, at last, with the first one. The Trumpeter 1/32 A-7E Corsair II with the Aires pit and wheel bays. Unfortunately for me I was to far in the build to integrate the Zactomodels intake. The second is the Tamiya 1/48 P-47D Razorback with no after market stuff added. Just some wires on the engine and in the cockpit. And now some pics. That's all folks. If you like it I have more pics. Comments are always welcomed. Eric
