  1. Have resolved problem. It looks as though the paint I had must at some point in the past been doctored, though I'm not sure why. Just picked up a fresh pot from Hannants in Colindale and it's perfect
  2. Really good job. The insides are always an issue, whether it's worth spending time on things that you can't see. On the subject of paint I was led to believe that Tamiya had produced a special paint for this model? What did you use to prime the body's shell with as Zero paints can be plastic eaters if not primed right? Definitely a model on my to do list.
  3. I am currently doing a 1/48 Revell Jaguar. Instead of the box decals I am using Model Alliance Jaguar GR1 RAF Gulf War set. The colour for the airframe is shown as either Humbrol desert sand or Xtracolor RAF Gulf Desert pink. Both of these I belive are enamels which I have not used for quite a while. I therefore looked for acrylic alternatives of each brand. Humbrol don't seem to do one but Xtracolor does X1032 which by the look of the colour swatch on top to be the right one. I remember using this colour to do an SAS pink panther landrover a few years back so dug the paint out. Being a little cautious after a good mix I tried it out on some spare plasticard, "my god it's pink" I wanted a war plane not a Barbie (other dolls are available) plane. Is there something wrong with this paint or can I use it. I've seen pictures of Jaguars and Bucanneers from this era but they never looked this pink? Any thoughts
  4. Hi, my names Jeremy and have been making models badly for the last 50 odd years. My first model was an Airfix Ariel motorcycle. I will model anything if it appeals whether it be planes cars boats or armour. It's only the last few years that I have started to try and get better at the hobby and have invested in things like airbrushes etc. Tend to make things oob with little or no weathering or highlighting. Makes my models look like corgi models of a few years ago. Am hoping this forum may help me move out of my comfort zone and be a little more daring.
