  1. Morning Everybody Finished this one a few weeks back, Revell's superb 787 Dreamliner. This was my first go at an airliner so was a bit concerned about getting a nice finish with the white. Also the Daco decals are rather large, but i have to say they were performed superbly. The kit just falls together with filler only needed where i made mistakes. Another great part of the kit is the engines, simply great! Halfords Grey primer was covered with their Appliance white before being masked ready for the blue. The was Daco's own brand paint that can be bought with the decals. The engine intakes were airbrush with Gunze Metals. As a result there are a few more liners in Jelly's stash!! Marcus
  2. Thanks everybody! Ljubo, reference used was the book below, there are some fantastic shots of every part of the aircraft. Please help yourself to any images you need, if you need any other info, please just give me a shout. Marcus
  3. Thanks guys Jeffrey, the gear is not to bad at at, and has a good sturdy feel to it depite there being a huge amount of lead in the front. Here's a few pics of various parts of the build, including the nose weight! Spad, yes it was in Airfix Model World. Crew entrance detail and internal lighting. Marcus
  4. Evening Everybody Finished this one a few months back, Kinetic's E-2C Hawkeye. A great kit, but not without it's problems. The engine turbine, crew access opening and radar were scratch built. Extra detail was also added to the landing gear, wing folds and the cockpit area. Marcus
  5. Cracking build Mike, a first class finish there mate. Thats my allowance spent for next month! May i ask what lighting you use for your snaps? Superb images. Marcus
  6. Many Thanks guys! Must do another prop soon!! Mark, thinned the paints with Tamiya Acrylic thinners and sprayed just fine. I believe you can also thin them with water. Marcus
  7. Afternoon Guys A few imeges of my lastest build, Tamiya's superb 1:48 P-47D Thunderbolt. This was a first for me as i'd not built a WW2 prop before, but i can honestly say i enjoyed every part of it. I think if you added a bottle of glue in the box and chuck it in the air it would come down built!! The aircraft was painted with Citadel paints and weathered with a mix of Promodellers and Citadel washes. The muddy area's were done with Mig pigments. Extra's were Eagle Strike decals, True details Wheels and metal gun barrels. Sorry for the amount of pics! Marcus
  8. Hi Guys Many Thanks for all the kind comments, they are really appreciated. Hi Andy, colours were, Mithril Silver and Boltgun. These were thinned with Tamiya X-20 but i believe you can use water. Hi Doug, i still have another to build you know!! Hi Jens, They seemed to be ok but i gave the model a couple of coats of Klear pretty soon after i had sprayed the silver. Masking was no problem at all. Marcus
  9. Sorry Guys! Posted the wrong pics!! Jens :- The Citadel paints were great, they spray really well and are a lot easier to clean up than Alclads. These were sprayed over normal grey primer too, so no need for a glossy black finish. Marcus
  10. Evening Guys I've finally got the Lightning finshed!. This was the first Aifix Lightning i've built but really like the kit, the only thing that i wasn't too impressed with were the Model Alliance decals. Some of the printing wasn't too good, especially on the roundels. Oh and forgot...that nose ring! Like others have been, i was really impressed with Citadel metallics, they sprayed faultlessly and will definitely be my first choice on the P-47. Kit manufacture: Airfix Scale: 1/48 Type: Lightning F1/F1A/F2/F3 Extras used: Neomega Resin Cockpit Paints and colours used: Citadel Mithril Silver, Boltgun Metal, Chainmail, Tamiya Red, Flat Black, Nato Black, Olive Drab, Xtracrylic White. Weathering: ProModellers Dark Wash, Citadel Gryphonne, Devlan Mud & Ogryn Flesh Washes, Greytone Pastels. Hope you like Marcus
  11. Just beautiful Andy, superb build mate! Marcus
  12. Thats very very nice indeed! Well done. It doesn't get much better than a Navy / Marines Phantom from that era. Marcus
  13. Looking at some of my pics, there is no gap so i suppose you could fix the wings in place and try filling. The wings on mine can be removed for moving around. Many, many thanks for all the great comments too guys, really appreciate them. I really enjoyed this one, the only real pain was the joint when joining the pit to the fuselage, other than that, the Hase F-14 is a joy to build. I'm afraid the next one is another US Navy scheme from the 70's, this time a EA-6A Intruder in the 'Playboys' scheme with a few electircal extra's..... Thanks Again Marcus
