  2. He'd have none at all if he drank you coffee!
  3. Can't believe no one has told you how great this is, so i will. looking forward to the next installment.
  4. Yes, I wondered what had happen to these. I hope all is well with you.
  5. Gosh I'd forgotten how much nicer the Hasegawa interior is.
  6. into the buff, no put some clothes on! Nice work Wolfie.
  7. Hmm. I wonder why the tubes could not be marked on the upper half and then left to the modeller to drill them out or leave them covered by the gun patches or both?
  8. Generally the wargames industry talk about them being 1/56th scale and advertise their vehicles as such.
  9. Nice work on the French. I do a lot of wargames figures myself, I find them much more relaxing than making models!!
  10. Very nice, I like the look of the early 8 wheelers.
  11. We went on the Saturday and the Blue Angels were unable to fly due to the low cloud.
  12. I remeber that day well and people saying the display was a bit sparse and nothing like the great days of the eighties. Nothing changes does it!. great photos and more great memories.
  13. I remember it as having Resin inserts for the guns but I thought the wings were a single piece and you had to saw out the relevant sections. Shows what a bad memory I have Smithy, 100 NZD is a lot, they were £24.99 to £29.99 in the UK when I got mine. I think it was the easiest to assemble Classic Airframes kit ever.
  14. the dio is merely a resin base from Mainly Military, painted and flocked, with resin for the stream/ditch water. I use it a lot for photgraphing these small models. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67401 http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67400
  15. it's alway a good thing to do an easy kit now and then, especially after the arm wrestling you've done lately.
  16. Lovely work, I think the two seater looks more purposeful than the single seater.
  17. The Classic Airframe kit was very nice, it was critised for th narrowness of the nose and IIRC it omitted the land lights. I built three of them and enjoyed it a lot. Sadly they are hard if not impossible to find for a reasonable price.
  18. I'm at a point where I just need to add a few bits and then painting can commence, next week. I'll post the results in RFI when it's done but for now here are my impressions of the kit against the basic Hasegawa kit. Italeri Positives One piece fuselage - fewer seams to fill. Correct forward spine/rear cockpit. easier to achive an open canopy. No need to buy the Ultracast cockpit set. Etched seat belts included. Better underfuselage/ rear wing joint. no awkward filling needed. Full engine. Separate control surfaces. two propellor types as standard. Italeri negatives Cockpit floor. No throttle quadrant. poor fit of the gun panels( not sure why the panels are separate). Fit of engine panels may be poor if the engine isn't fitted. Thin plastic makes kit feel flimsy. Hasegawa positives Throttle quadrant. no floor to cockpit. Hasegawa negatives Poor fit of parts describe in Italeri positives. Raised blocks on wing uppersurface that need to be removed. Too many inserts. Only the Rotol propellor in the basic boxing Price (UK) Italeri £29.99 but cheaper at most on line stores. Complete package, seat belts, two propellors and 5 marking options. Hasegawa oop last price £18.99 but newer Hasegawa issues of kits of the same vintage have had a £10 average price rise on re-issue. To do an open cockpit you need to do some scratchbuilding or buy the Ultracast cockpit set, which gives the rear cockpit insert, armour plate and a seat with oxygen hose and belts. May need a DH propellor if you use after market decals. Both kits would benefit from the Ultracast resin undercarriage bay. So there is no price advantage to either. Airfix still do an accurate in outline Hurricane at half the price thought it is very basic it should not be discounted. I hope some of this helps. Thanks for looking
  19. Thanks ever so much for sharing. Brought back so many memories.
  20. Looking good Wolfie. I guess you'll be using a lot of masking tape!
  21. I don't know how you have the patience to do such beautiful work on such a small model. Very envious of your skills.
