  1. Thanks @SafetyDad and @Hook. Help greatly appreciated. Splinter pattern it is. Just thought it odd that Revell "Germany" would get it wrong. The joys of modelling. Right, where's the masking tape. Have a great day. 😁
  2. Hi all. I am looking for some help from Britmodeller's Luftwaffe experts. I'm just about to put paint to plastic on Revell's 1/72 Ju-88C-6 and I have chosen the Zerstorer option ( a/c 5K+DP of 6/KG(Z)3). The scheme shows all upper surfaces in RLM71 (over RLM65 lower surfaces) rather than a splinter pattern. Is anyone able to say whether this is accurate or if Revell have made a mistake as I've not seen this sort of scheme before and have been unable to find a photo or other reference on line? Many thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks @mhaselden. Yes, I should have said aileron. Thank you for pointing out the error. That's probably why I ended up as a train driver, rather than a pilot. 🙂
  4. Good evening friends. Currently building the above and wondering if a Hurricane afficianado could answer a query. In this well known photo there is a small square patch just inboard of the flap. Does anyone know if this is a yellow gas warning patch? I only ask as its in a different place to the location shown on the plans in my Airfix kit. If not, any idea what it might be and what colour? Thanks in advance. Mark
  5. Hello Richard. I'm afraid I've had similar problems. I ordered some decals (using Paypal) on mid Oct so chased up a couple of weeks later and was advised that my order had accidentally gone to trash but that my order would be immediately dispatched. Fair enough, these things happen and I then got confirmation of dispatch with a Royal Mail tracking number but when I plugged it into the system the number wasn't recognised. So, I chased up with another couple of emails but, regrettably, I've had no reply. Hopefully the vendor is ok but if I don't get the decals or a refund by Monday I'll be opening a dispute via Paypal. All a bit disappointing really. I hope you get your issue resolved. Update: 8 Dec 20 - Refund provided by the vendor straight away after I raised a claim through Paypal. Apparently the decals were sent out twice but got lost in the post on both occasions.
  6. Thank you for all the "thumbs ups" and to everyone who made such kind and encouraging comments. Hopefully it won't be too long before I post my next build.😀
  7. Hi. My first completed model for a very, very long time and the first ever posted on line. I know its not perfect but I'm just grateful I had the patience to complete it and it didn't end up in the bin! Decided not to add the D-Day stripes to keep it simple. No idea if the aircraft ever actually existed in this form but I'm happy with it, I learnt a lot and that's all that counts. Just the aerial to add when my elastic thread arrives. Good kit with no real vices. Paints are Hataka, Vallejo and Tamiya acrylics. Weathering - maybe a bit too much - was mainly pastel powders. Chipping (Vallejo steel and smoke) added using tweezers and a tiny piece of natural sponge. Peewit masks okay but not as good as Eduard IMHO. Winsor & Newton gloss and matt varnishes. Thanks for looking.
  8. Dear all, a little late to the discussion but I just wanted to add that I, too, have had a bad experience with 1001. I was tempted 9 weeks ago to order Trumpeter's EXETER which was on sale for a reasonable price and shown in stock. Was advised a week later that it had been dispatched and that it should be with me within 7 to 10 days. I won't bore you with the detail but it never arrived (they blamed it on Hermes) and didn't respond to my request for a refund, so I asked my bank to claim back my money via the Chargeback arrangement which they have done today. Maybe it was just bad luck but looking at their reviews on Trustpilot they seem very hit and miss; either 5 stars or 1 star. Rest assured I won't be tempted again. Just wanted to share my experience with fellow modellers. Stay safe.
  9. Lots still in Lidl, Richmond (North Yorks).
