  3. Please check out the misc section where Mike Costello has brought us a look at the Military Museum in Beijing and the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Min City Lucky Mike! Julien
  4. I think that was a selectable thing, could be down if needed. Julien
  5. I would agree the pics seem inconclusive so I would go NMF If anyone knows different I would love to know. As for Airbrakes I have seen a lot of photos of them closed on all F-86's As for Robin, well! building for fun will get you kicked out of the rivit counters union thats for sure Julien
  6. One of my fav kits of all time this one. When I bult mine I detailed the engine then the cowlings would not fit! ended up sanding the engine down to fit them Took some doing hand painting this in 1.24! Julien
  7. A tip I read somewhere to make stencils look more realistic is to use a scale down. 1/32 use 1.48 1/48 use 1.72 etc. Some aircraft such as the US F-4 in SEA camo wih white stencils they were very prominant. Also as an aicracft comes from the factory there were loads. Generally as they went through successive re-paints they got less I think. I remember a pic I saw ages ago of a RAF phontom being washed down with large yard brushes and a fire hose, the tile was "Look no stencils" Julien
  8. Starfighters Aerospace operate the single and 2 seater F-104, you can even have a go if you want "Pricing starts at $30,000 US for a single flight training program. Add a second flight for $23,000 more." The collins foundation have an F-4C/D, T-33, TA-4J, F-100D. It actually took them an act of congress to get the an an amendment to the Defense Authorization Bill to make this happen, so they must have pwerful friends! Cant see the CAA ever allowing Afterburner jets in the UK. Julien
  9. The CAA in the UK are very restrictive on this type of thing basically anything with an afterburner is a no no. A private company nearly got a Bucc flying again but to use with a military contract. never quite happened though, the CAA put to many barriers up. I know the Vulcan people had to jump through a lot of hoops. The FAA in the US are more accommodating. The collins foundation now has an F-4 flying. There are some civilian F-104;s and at least one F-100. There are though jets like the Sea Vixen, Hunter, F-86, Meteor flying. Julien
  10. Some great pics from Mark (troffa) Taken in the Gulf War
  11. Fantastic build so far. Looking att his they do look a bit bigger in chord. Not sure its all down to perspective. Would like you say make more sense like the harrier ones. julien
  12. Yes I have wet sanded kleer with no problems before. Julien
  13. Not sure now if the original poster was using the ratlle can or not. I try to avoid cans as the stuff can come out too fast and give the grainy results if you pull back too far. Julien
  14. My old E has a slatted wing and this is the 80's boxing. Despite what has been said they look good when built up in my view. Julien
  15. Was probably quite comfortable I would have thought. The russians were still using something similar in WWII! Julien
  16. Looking good. After building 2 in 1.48 (they are small!) the 1.72 version must be Tiny! Julien
  17. I think the revell one is a copy of the old hasegawa one. The Italeri one is nice, going to do mine as a B model after wolfpack did the decals for a good B Julien
