  1. I lived in Berlin back then and my former sis-in law used to work for DA at TXL. The 1-11-500 was the most common jet on this route. But 727-200, 737-200/300/400 and BAe146s were also used, depending on the load factor. I´ll never forget the last friday in March 1990,when DA showed up on the LGW-TXL-LGW flight with 727-200 G-BPNS in full Air Malta c/s. So, Dave, what was the seating like? 2-3 most likely a BAC, 3-3 most likely a Boeing. Cheers David
  2. No, you are not alone. Somebody at A.net managed to give poo-poo a value. Thank God there are still planepictures.net, abpic.co.uk and flickr.com.
  3. The Heller kit is the Italeri kit. The Academy kit with ROKAF decals is also from Italeri. ESCI´s C-130 is awful. Brgds Dave
  4. I remember these projects ... http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.org/Airfix_1_72_Nimrod_to_DH_106_Comet_about33647.html http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234957017-172-dh-106-comet-4b-from-the-airfix-nimrod/ … but never found any image of a finished one. Have a nice day. Dave
  5. Just got an info fro my local hobby shop. The C-54 has arrived.
  6. http://www.ana-sw.com/detail/index.html What do you think? Have a nice day. Dave
  7. At least one of the three RB-29 in RAF service had a red tail similar to those USAF B-29/RB-29 used in arctic operations. There is a pic of it in the book "Pictorial History of the RAF 1945-1969" by John Taylor & Philip Moyes, Ian Allan 1970.Page 91. It had a black "55" on the rear fuselage. If somebody could tell what Reg. that was, that would be really nice. Dave
  8. Almost the same like what the Israelis uses on their CH-53 now. Or? http://www.cavok-aviation-photos.net/Israel/CH53_914.jpg
  9. I do hope, that the radar nose is one of two options. But conversion kits for a Canadair C.4/C-54GM or a ATL98 sounds like a brilliant idea. Have a nice dream, David
  10. A friend of mine served in Berlin with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards during the early 80´s. He was trained to speak russian and became part of BRIXMIS. They toured through East Germany for days in search of interesting "enemy" military actions. Fantastic stories. These guys are real heroes. On the other hand. I met a east german who was a tank driver on T-62s and he said that 2/3 of their tanks were not combat ready. Thank God its over.
  11. It´s way to much white. The propper outfit for something to clean the toilet, but not for an airline. The tail reminds me of of JALs unhappy red dot logo.
  12. Since most of the 1/24 kits are WWII related, maybe we might see a Gloster Meteor?
