F-86H: 413th Fighter Day Group confusion
Corsairfoxfouruncle replied to Sabrejet's topic in Aircraft Cold War
I see three bands on the vertical tail/rudder. Yes I modulated the photo to help draw out what Im seeing. I don't see anymore than one diagonal stripe on the fuselage. I think the plane could've been a recent transfer from another squadron. Possibly maintenance crews haven't finished in the markings changeover ? Dennis -
Nice that she did that, I think Id go Arab with it.

B-17 Questions and looking for photo’s now found
Corsairfoxfouruncle replied to Corsairfoxfouruncle's topic in Aircraft WWII
I have a second question, a friend sent me a video about a B-17G “Wampus Cat”. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Wd2atrowq5M In the video I took a still screen shot of the port waist gun position. There are two objects riveted to the fuselage just fore/aft of the waist gun. My guess is these are so the gunner cant shoot the wing or the tail plane. Please let me know if I’m correct or off on my guess ? Dennis -
Hawker Hurricane Mk IIc 1/48 Arma Hobby

Yes thank you even comes with decals I want. -
I normally don't say anything in cases like this. However I will give my worth. Ive bern building models since 1979. My very first kit was an Testors release of their 1/48th F-4 phantom. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/testors-582-rf-4-phantom-ii--657006 Ive built a number of their kits over the years and most go together quite fine. I am particularly fond of their Armor kits. So I have no real complaints with only the following two exception’s. The first is I bought a 2nd hand Italeri Fw.190D kit at a swap meet. This boxing as a matter of fact. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/italeri-128-fw-190d-9--1093958 Sadly it was the only kit Ive ever owned/built from Italeri that went into the bin. The wings were so bad with a leading edge gap. That between upper and lower halves at the fuselage join the gap was approximately 1/4 inch. I could almost slide a pencil into the leading edge. The red arrow in the blue circle is what Im referring to. My second complaint about any Italeri models with one exception = pricing. Here in the U.S this 1/48 F-86 kit goes for $56 at my one local store. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/italeri-2684-north-american-f-86f-sabre-jet--101741 I can find cheaper kits sadly from other companies online. I say yes only as a provisional yes. For the very same reasons i noted on page 1 here. “Im interested but holding off in signing up as I was planning on two 104’s sometime this year. If I cant get to them this build gets one or both. Most likely JASDF in one of the very interesting schemes (Cloud dragon or Sea scheme) and then Canada in the solid green camouflage. I have decals and kits in both scale’s. My dream is to find two F-104A or C’s as I want to do USAF NMF and SEA Camouflage someday. I’ve also never seen a D/G twin seater so those would also be nice to make ?” So yes you may sign me up, just depends on what I can build this year as to what I can build here. Interesting side note as a possibility for Someone to build. The CL-242 was a previous design attempt towards the U-2/TR-1 series. https://www.reddit.com/r/WeirdWings/comments/kgmgti/the_cl_242_was_an_f104_with_glider_wings_it/?rdt=54006

Actually both qualify, I just double checked. They started service according to this in 1930. https://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/collections/collections-online/vehicles/item/1981-521-part-0

Looking good, the plane always makes me think someone took an T-33 ripped the wings and rear empennage off. Then added an F-86 wings and empennage.

If you haven't done any more work on the one in the link I would say it’s below 25% ? Either way I say you can build them and enter the one in the inspiration gallery when finished. PS - you will need @Enzo the Magnificent or another mod to move the thread. Got to the three dots on your upper corner of your screen. Open it up and flag your thread. Ask the mods to move there.

To be honest I cant see anything wrong with the decals. And I agree I think the paint looks good. It gives that duller look over NMF.

Mack’s were/are my favorite to this day. Just love the dang Bulldog ornaments. But I think out of all the cabs/bodies these are #2 right after the sideway cabs. 1st favorite is the Commandcab series. Just something about the shifted cab look. https://www.bigiron.com/Lots/1984MackDM492STACabChassis 3rd favorite body style. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/article/all-bulldog-all-historic-1963-mack-b-813x Dennis

Mini art LGOC-B type British 3T lorry
Corsairfoxfouruncle replied to Redstaff's topic in The Golden Age Of Transport GB
Another Idea would be paint the wear points green or whatever the camouflage was. Then clear those areas to protect them. Once done spray your main color and hit it with 1000 or 2000 wet/dry lightly enough to wear the new color off. It will look like scuffing and you get the desired effect. -

Definitely an interesting choice. Maybe paint the original military color underneath the newer color ? Make it look like it was transferred straight like that and the paint is wearing through in spots.
