  1. I use fishing weights, they come in various sizes and shapes. My favorite are bullet weights. Something like this will last you a good number of years. https://www.amazon.com/Fishing-Sinkers-Weights-Sinker-Weight/dp/B07R8DXS2M/ref=asc_df_B07R8DXS2M/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=343991671857&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12757751518562181943&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021610&hvtargid=pla-755883512096&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=69358348015&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=343991671857&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12757751518562181943&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021610&hvtargid=pla-755883512096 I also recommend standard weights like this as they can easily be flattened and cut into smaller pieces. https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Claw-Assortment-Removable-Split-Shot/dp/B000EYY41S/ref=asc_df_B000EYY41S/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=366402682769&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12896116367379281585&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021610&hvtargid=pla-757603326710&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=77371234958&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=366402682769&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12896116367379281585&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021610&hvtargid=pla-757603326710 I buy set about every two years at the rate I build.
  2. Good evening everyone … I finally was able to get around to taking care of this. Sadly I racked my brain for a good while but cannot figure out how to open the third flap under the fuselage now. Still need the tanks or rocket pods to be added but otherwise shes ready for paint. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments or add thoughts. Dennis
  3. Hello everyone … well this is fully together now except for ordnance and landing gear but those come after paint. It will get a black-base for the aluminum this week. It will be painted along with my CF.100. Once the Aluminum is done I can mask for the international dayglo orange panels. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments or add thoughts. Dennis
  4. Thats ok Im in the same situation myself. Ive got so many on the go Im in danger of not actually building a kit.
  5. With 30+ sign-ups shouldn't this be up in the Bunfight category ?
  6. Looking good Ive used wire myself before but sometimes I also use fine polymer fishing line for antenna’s like this
  7. If you do get a decent set would you be interested in selling copies ?
  8. Thanks Ray .. No not missed anything I have 10 Prop driven aircraft mostly done on all but the Spitfire Mk.XII. Other than the XII there are 5 P-51’s, 3 Mk.V Spitfires, and one Brewster Buffalo. Add to that a Mitsubishi F-2A, Mk.IV CF.100, and an F-20. I still need to start an F-15C and an F-84F in 1/48 for the Revellogram group build.
  9. Well done on this. Id like to do two of these someday. This black one and the Army co-op in camouflage. Beyond that it would depend on existing schemes and if another caught my fancy.
  10. Looks great and Congrats for making the 1st entry into the gallery. Im hoping to start mine next week as Im over-run with builds at the moment.
  11. I have 5 mustangs, 4 spitfires, and one Brewster Buffalo stalled at the moment. Im just trying to catch up on my group build requirements. It is with the minor flubs on the centerline which may be my issue.
  12. Hello Hamster … from the city of Chicago. Im mostly a military aircraft builder myself and the Tamiya kit is very nice. One member here painted it completely before assembly as there were no gaps at all. Should be a good return to modeling experience. I hope you opt to stay with it as it can be rewarding and fun. Dennis
  13. Hello Ray … from the city of Chicago USA. Im mostly a military aircraft builder myself. Dennis
  14. Hello Sergio … from the city of Chicago USA. Im mostly a military aircraft builder myself and like your models. Dennis
  15. Good morning everyone … Almost done now just needs a smidge of weathering around the exhaust and vents then I can be happy. I did only add the starboard tank. The reasons for this is from something I read and several photo’s Ive seen. It seems that the drag from the second tank negated the advantage of the fuel and range. I cant remember if the testing was in the late 60’s or early 70’s. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments or add thoughts. Dennis
  16. Good morning everybody … Well its only been a month but I finally got to start this tonight. I actually removed the two canopy horns as I decided I will pose this with the canopy down. The wings are great on this kit, virtually no gaps maybe just a bit of surfacer to fill in what little there is. The fuselage not so much, few gaps but missing divots on top and bottom will need filling. Will start to fill the gaps tomorrow and when thats done can add the stabs. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments or add thoughts. Dennis
  17. Can I inquire about armored gun trucks from Vietnam or more modern ones used in Iraq/Afghanistan ? Would these qualify as armored cars or no ?
  18. True but if you have a 1:1 scale build I think we can definitely make an exception for it. Though do you think you can get it done in 90 days we might need an extension.
  19. Something thats stopped me from doing checkers very often. The only suggestion I have is one Ive thought about using myself. You will need a fine drafting pencil, flexible straight edge and tape cut into perfect squares/diamonds. I would use the pencil to layout very faint lines in the pattern. Then use pre-cut tape to fill the pattern. A lot of work but I think thats your best bet.
  20. Hello Chris … from the other side of the pond in Chicago USA. I mostly build military aircraft but dabble in armor and sci-fi. Id love to do more ships but size and cost prohibit me for the most part. Dennis
  21. Welcome with another good classic. Last time I built one of these I modified it and used a modern coil spring suspension in the front. I added a 429 from a mustang and It was painted in Royal purple metallic with white interior and top.
