  1. OK, I remember during Telford on one of the forums, someone said "I know what it is, and it's big and British" So here's my guess and it's one of two things 1. a 1/72nd VC-10 (Supposedly Airfix has been working on this for several years or 2.(which I actually think is more likely) a 1/350scale HMS Queen Elizabeth. Laugh if you will, but aircraft carriers sell. Anyway, just my two cents
  2. Just a historical note-the B-45, and for that matter the AJ Savage both originally flew with frameless canopy's. During flight testing, both planes had cracking in the canopy, and it was decided to strengthen them with frameworks, as Lance B above points out in his post. I want to say the AJ had a canopy cracking and started to "flake" off in flight. Also agree with Radleigh, hope someone does a mask for this puppy.
  3. Agree with most -go Revell. I've built both, and the Revell was a joy to build-Airfix less so. I liked Revell's engineering-thought it was better than Airfix. One word of caution-Revell has you build the engine nacelle's separately and then attach to the wings. After you do that, it has you put the engine exhausts onto the nacelles-that is a real pain to do. I recommend you attach the exhausts while you are building the nacelles. Outside of that, a very easy kit to build.
  4. Depends on what you want. The Trumpy Kit seems to resemble the Streem kit to some degree. Having said that, they are both not the easiest builds. The Trumpy kit 's fit is not the best in places-particularly the front windshield. I actually decided I have better things to do with my life, and put a quarter built MR back in it's box months ago and haven't touched it since. Giving the kit it's due-it is a more accurate model than the Dragon/Zvezda/Revell. Now if you want a kit that goes together really well, doesn't fight you at every step, and is a passable replica of the Su-24 (biggest error, IMO, is the main wings are level when looked at from the front of the model, they should actually droop down.) then the Dragon/Zvezda/Revell is the way to go. I built these kits over 20 years ago-word on the street is buy the Zvezda-it has the best decals.
  5. YES!YES!YES! Bring that Bad Boy on! Don't know where I will display it (add a room to the house?) and of course SWMBO will need to be appeased, but I'm looking forward to this more than the ModelCollect Bombers!
  6. RE: Some comments have indicated some people feel the price is a bit high. The price is not all that bad when you consider the plane is actually rather large- it is closer in size to a B-17, than say a B-25. Also when you look at the price of the MACH 2 kit, at over $100.00-this price doesn't seem to bad. And as other's have pointed out depending on where you (will) buy it can make a big difference.
