  1. Agreed, life definitely too short to argue. We just have different views of modelling. Mine are probably more influenced by my (lack of!)ability hence any finished model is a good one in my book, regardless how accurate it may be. I take the same approach with my model railway. I suppose you pays your money you takes your choice. Have fun out there.
  2. This. Your model, your choice. Who the heck cares if it's 100% accurate or not? Well clearly some people but not me for mine or anyone else models for that matter. I also find it strange why anyone would come onto a thread of a frankly superb model and start nitpicking. Poor form.
  3. Hi there, Really great work, could you give a brief summary of your weathering technique? I love the subtlety of this one and I'm stating work on one of these shortly. Z
  4. My wonderful wife brought me a one of these for Christmas. I was hoping for a nice quiet build, but with 2 daughters who love lego I've had to expand the workforce! Bags 1 and 2 now done. Bag 2 was great as there are 4 of everything, so we make one each (and even let my wife join in!). Bag 3 tomorrow am. Easier than these blooming' plastic things!
  5. I'm going for the cotton from the ceiling not approach as found in my teenage bedroom 30 years ago.
  6. I normally use sprue cutters, but I like the look of those tweezer nippers. I'm off to do a search for some....
  7. I'm looking forward to those pictures when you figure it out. Welcome from a fellow newbie.

    Hi all

Hi Callum from a fellow newbie. Hope to see you around the site.
  9. Hello everyone im returning to the hobby after a gap of many, many years since I was a kid. In my youth a used to put together a few plastic kits, glue everywhere, no paint but with decals applied, and quite enjoyed myself. 30 years on I was looking for something to relax with and came back to modelling. I've completed just a 1/72 spitfire that I must have owned for 20 years and multiple house moves (that spitfire has seen more lofts than the Loft Ladder man). It's not the greatest piece of modelling any of you will have ever seen, and it only looks reasonable on one side due to a slight issue with a large decal, but as it's the first time I've properly painted a model I was quite pleased overall. My main issue is time, the spit took about 6 months from start to finish, and I've just started a Kinetic 1/48 SHAR and a month in I'm still on the cockpit tub! Hope to catch up with some of you around the site. Paul
