  1. Sorry guys, I saw the picture this morning and it has been bugging me all day. I see no droop. I see the top of the wing and the trailing curved edge of the flap at its inboard end, but no droop. Maybe I need new glasses or something!
  2. Correct, they normally had the flaps down when parked, would probably do nasty things to parked aircraft in high winds. I don't remember them having their ailerons drooped either. The Bucc has an all moving tailplane, so no elevators. The Bucc used hydraulic power for controls, but I am 90% certain the t/p flaps were electrically operated and although the ailerons were hyd , I am 60% sure the aileron droop mechanism was electric also.
  3. I found this http://buccsociety.conforums.com/index.cgi?board=restorations&action=print&num=1166290082 There is an awesome picture of the tailplane with the flaps up. It is about 9 pics down. Hope that helps. I know this is an S2B, but believe the S1 was the same. Must learn how to post pics to this site!!!
  4. As you are dropping the flaps and drooping the ailerons, are you raising the tailplane flaps too?
  5. Irn bru? For the uninitiated, it's 'made in Scotland from Girders' ok, so apologies, I must be about 10 posts behind. Spent the day on the 'Honey, do...' list. Got to keep 'er indoors happy.
  6. So I was watching this, quietly in the background. Then someone mentioned Omelettes. Cheddar and mushrooms in mine please, and is there still room in the cheap seats? Promise not to heckle too loudly!
  7. I was intending to include the aircraft during the 'naval occupation' hence the inclusion of the S1.
  8. I think I would like to complete my Bucc and then the other two V bombers, then... I was reading a history of RAF Lossiemouth and began to think 'What if I build one of every aircraft that was based there'. Now that sounds like an ambitious project if every I heard of one. Fleet Air Arm Buccaneer S1, Hunter T7, Shackleton, Tornado, Jaguar GR1 and T4... Hmmm
  9. Awesome job, I especially like the detail you got on the crew and the clean lines defining the BLC, how did you manage that? I just hope I can get that accurate a paint job on my Bucc when it is finished. It does looks like the arresting hook may be positioned too far aft. I have never tackled a Revell kit, so don't know how accurate they come. I would be proud to display this if it were mine.
  10. Hi everyone, Found this site while looking for tips on modeling. I did a few kits as a youngster, i remember a Spitfire (which I believe was 1:24) and a Saturn V at 1:144. I have been working on a Buccaneer 1:48 for about 20 years (still a long way to go). My interest was recently rekindled by a relative who started visiting from UK. I have a Vulcan underway which I am using to learn and practice on before returning to the Bucc. I want the Bucc to be display-worthy, but am a perfectionist so not sure if this will happen. The interest in Buccs stems from 4 years working on them in the 80's. Have lots of questions and a willingness to learn how to do this things properly.
