  1. 1st plastic cut and dry fitting time, to find the 'interesting' joins on the main fuselage. This looks fun ! I see several places where careful manipulation is going to be required
  2. The scheme will either be the "Artic Harrier' from the 2004 Snow Falcon Exersize or from 1996 SAOEU based at Boscombe Down both are 60% LERX units so I do not have to make the decision just yet !
  3. Finally back in the land of modelling - my entry for this GB will be Eduard's reboxing of the Hasegawa GR7 / GR9 Harrier. As this is the NATO GB it will not be a Harrier based in the MIddle East so as not to build build yet another fully grey aircraft I will build one with white or green on it !! Onto the starting pictures , all new and packaged up The included Resin , PE and Decals
  4. Very nice 😁 ! a completed build before I have started ( though I am on vacation / working away).
  5. Please add me to the list - the most awesome wife bought me a couple of kits for my birthday to go with my 617 Sqdn Tornado … the Tamiya 1/48 F-35B and 1/48 Lancaster (need a GB for this one!!) Another gray job for the shelf ☺️ later this year
  6. Haha my 1/48 modern jet collection expands the area of interest to include anything I see I would like to build at some point- not many military bases in the modern jet age in Essex anymore. A Harrier from RAF Wittering, F-15E from Lakenheath , A-10 From Bentwaters , something from Alconbury all are not too far from Essex , too many bases have closed over the years . 1/72 WW2 collection is still USAF based in Essex - next build in that collection will be the Eduard Wine Women & Song B-26 Kit as part of the 80th D-Day GB
  7. eek only a week or 3 weeks for me (not starting until end April due to work travel commitments) to decide - easy build, hard build, easy build, hard build hmmm choices ... Keep leaning towards the Eduard Limited Edition Harrier GR7/9 to test my patience and building skills otherwise it will be one of the new Airfix , Tamiya , SWS , Meng offerings !!
  8. 11 days until the GB start , I am away on business until 23rd April (my GB Start date) .... I still have no idea what i am going to build : S-2B Bucc (a Pink One) , Harrier GR 9, F-15E out of Lakenheath, F-35B (617 Sqdn) , Shackleton, Tamiya A-10A , F4-E too many choices !!!! or buy a MIG-21Bis with Croatian markings (my country code)
  9. add me to the list please . I need the fill to fill my office / modelling room up with more big beasties
  10. Made me think I will be building 2 kits - the one I have and the new airfix one - a 4 prop bomber what is there not to love !!
  11. During the war there were 17 Squadrons were posted to Bradwell Bay at some point , but I think every squadron that flew from an East Anglian base will have landed at least one aircraft there during WW2 , even though it was not a designated an Emergency Landing Ground , it was often the 1st friendly runway pilots saw , Lancasters and B-17's were seen there with various states of damage !! I forgot the damaged JU-88 that landed there instead of in France ! ( If I had thought about that I could have made that my WW2 1/72nd scale model theme .. )
  12. Its 2024 - my return after 18 months of RL fun will be a Tamiya 1/72 Mosquito Mk II Nightfighter -- I need to find if I can make all black look interesting 157 Squadron spent a few months at RAF Bradwell Bay so the kit fits with my - 'In Essex theme' for WW2 aircraft.
  13. This sounds fun !!! .... not for me though I see it says 'for experienced modelers' on the box , and I also like the face , perhaps it was auditioning for Pixar Films Planes ?
  14. I made Jedi in the original version of the MMO Star Wars Galaxies (before CU and NGE) , when you hid the fact that you were a Jedi ... too many bounty hunters after you
  15. How have I not seen this (lol) proposal -its got 4 Engines - big ugly and I have the Riders in the Sky Eduard boxing in the stash so add me to the list
  16. Add me to the list please - my 1st kit was either an airfix spitfire or hurricane around 1975 - I vividly remember the lesson from my dad about not trying to catch the scapel / modelling knife if I dropped it - health and safey !! . Obviously I did catch it one time and nearly 50 years later I can still see the scar ! I would have been a blitzbuild with more glue and paint on me than the model lol!!
  17. Add me to the list please .. Hopefully I will be back from the Peridia Galaxy if I can find a purrgil travelling in correct direction
  18. Add me to the list ... I need to build an East Anglian Hedge Trimmer
  19. Please add me to the list -- last diorama I made was 35+ years ago - Tamiya 1/35 Sherman in the Normandy Bocage made from paper mache / plaster of paris /sponge and bent wire, very messy and lots of fun if I remember
  20. If I remember my 'O' Level modern history (wow 40 years ago only seems like last year !! ) D-Day was Operation Neptune, which was the start of Operation Overlord , or the Battle of Normandy , and that concluded with Liberation of Paris at the end of August 1944 .
  21. Count me - will have plenty of inspiration from RIAT 2024 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the F-16 Fighting Falcon’s first flight, and with over 4600 airframes manufactured over the last five decades, the aircraft has become one of the most successful combat jets in history. To celebrate this, the Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 will host a global celebration of the F-16 Fighting Falcon in conjunction with Lockheed Martin. The focal point being a static line-up of F-16 from around the world and of course impressive flying demonstrations of the F-16.
  22. Count me in - nothing more fun than landing a 737 on a carrier ... oops that was Microsoft Flight Sim . I have a couple of valid candidates
  23. Hmm Allied 2 engines .. not a B-25 or B-26 .. got to be the wooden wonder -1/72 Tamiya Mosquito is somewhere in the stash - a nice way to get back modelling and start 2024 !!
