  1. The build looks really good, mate. Sorry you had a nightmare with the decals. Personally I didn't have any issues. They weren't thick and went on beautifully. I wonder if the supplier to Meng had been changed since my build. Either way though you've done great.
  2. I purchased the AK WWI vehicles volume 1 pack that is in association with Meng. The only colour I substituted was the brown as the one in the set seemed to be very 'terracotta' in tone and to my personal taste just looked wrong so I substituted with Tamiya Red Brown. The Brown from the set may be accurate but I just did not like the look of it in comparison to all the reference imagery I see
  3. Here is mine. Color and weathering certainly adds interest. personally I think the crude design is historically interesting from a design aspect. Clearly it was a rushed design with no forethought to help counter the threat from the British units as clearly demonstrated when compared alongside the British Mk.IV.
  4. I personally found the walls one of the easiest to fit as they were so well engineered. The fine gaps that were present were small enough that the primer filled the holes
  5. I thought the same thing with mine. I ended up leaving the main body of the weapons plastic and just replaced the barrels at the end. One thing to be aware of when it comes to the ceiling, I found the angles were not quite steep enough and so the roof sat like a partly opened can. I was hoping to have it so the roof could be lifted away but in the end I had to seal it down. Hopefully it was just a qwerk of my particular kit but thought I would let you know.
  6. I have built this kit myself a few months ago and found it very rewarding. It's a brilliant piece of plastic engineering. Hope you enjoy the rest of the build
  7. I am toying with the idea of purchasing one of those magnifying headsets to aid in my fine detail paintwork. I can't seem to get on with the lens in my workspace lamp due to how I have to set it up with the workspace I have. It gives me enough light but I find I have to keep everything too close to the lense to see properly. I know it's not my eyesight, anyway!!! What are people's thoughts on the headsets and which ones would you recommend?

  9. Here are the interior shots I took during the build. The brown on the decking has come out as a bright rust for some reason in the image. The real thing was a bit on the bright side so just after I took the image I dulled it down with a misting of a darker brown and it worked perfectly.
  10. Thanks guys. I have kind of caught the bug for building the interiors and have the Meng Bradley IFV in the initial stages. This kit looks more promising with regards to visual access to the interior and so I will have to push myself a bit more for detail. I also have the Takom King Tiger in the stash so plenty of work ahead of me.
  11. Gradually redeveloping my modelling skills after a youthful hiatus. This is the first kit I have built with a full interior. As a model project it was a big jump for me with the level of detail. Many sources of guidance were used to inspire how I was to paint and weather it. Unfortunately despite my best and somewhat limited skill I was not able to get the roof to sit flush without having to glue it down in the end so all the interior work is largely unseen. I have an image of it during the build me where but have not been able to locate at this time and will attach it later. Still it was good practice. It's not perfect but it's a start!!! All suggestions and feedback welcome.
  12. I ended up buying one for myself and one for a mate as he is planning to build a 1/16 Tiger 131 for a mate of ours as a gift.
  13. FYI to all UK members Just been the 'The Works' high street bookshop and they have been having a stock clearance of Haynes manuals including the Tiger I for £6, RRP £22.99. Incredibly cheap for these publications. Anyone interested in building Tiger 131 or just a Tiger in general will find it very useful and informative. Admittedly there is no guarantee your local shop will stock any but might be worth investigating for reference material. I grabbed one for the Wellington Bomber for the same price while I was there!!!
