  1. A few photos have recently been posted on Facebook of the long glasshouse version in service. One interior shot from inside the glasshouse looking forward, made me realise that the extended glasshouse enabled the pilot and rear gunner to see and communicate with each other. Was obviously a really good idea.,
  2. Posted on Facebook 21 Jan. Sorry for the separate new topic post. Could not find this page earlier. Dear friends, Glad to announce that An-225 "Mriya" (1/72) is scheduled for release this March. The kit comes with PE sheet, adhesive masks, decals for 4 liveries, consisting of 975 parts and having a wingspan of 1.23 m (48.3 inches). Fuselage and wings are produced by reinforced fibreglass composite, making them very durable. During storage, transportation and displacement - wing consoles could be detached from the fuselage. For price information, please reach your favourite retailer..

  4. As indicated in the drawings there are some differences in the engine intakes and exhausts between the two versions, so there would need to be alternate noses and engines. Also wonder if the civil version had extra windows? Japanese civil decals would be a great option.
  5. With no exterior panel lines (all composite) and two identical fuselages should be a relatively simple kit to produce. If engines same as B747 probably also same nacelles?
  6. Hi - Question for Two left hands - Would very much like to buy either or both the Tupolov ANT 21 and ANT 29 (Airkits 053 and 054) but since I do not understand Russian I wonder if you could possibly purchase for me? Happy to pay a commission for your trouble. Cheers and thanks Ian
  7. http://www.airpowerworld.info/transport-aircraft/bristol-britannia.htm Re the CL44 nose. A close look at comparison photos suggests to me the Britannia nose is structurally identical - same roof and curving nose, but the glass panels of the CL44 are deeper that the Britannia and go to that bottom of that weird lip at the base of the Britannia cockpit windows. So the point at which the nose starts to curve down is the same in both cases. Also the individual panels are wider with less framing. That relatively minor modification would have solved the visibility issue and also create a more modern look. There was a noticeable tendency for British aircraft of the forties/fifties to have smaller cockpit transparencies or complex framing - consider the early Typhoon, Meteor, Vampire, FD2, Canberra/B-57, and even Vulcan with its cockpit portholes. Although Atomic bomb flash was probably the reason for the latter. But a bubble canopy Vulcan would have been cool!
  8. Hi I have the same problem as an earlier post. Had my name on the wait list and now advised the second release is available. However the online shop says will not post to Australia and cannot see any workaround. Have sent an Email to Mel but no response. Would love the kit. It looks great and I specifically collect UK aircraft from the 1950's and early 60's - the golden years of the British aircraft industry! Just wondering if any member can assist? Thanks Ian
