  1. Hi Terry. Back home now and didn't even get within sniffing distance of Hannants. I spent enough money as it is. Hopefully I'll be able to do some work on the Sherman soon. John.
  2. Hi Stix, and thanks very much. Sorry for the delay in replying, but I've been globe trotting. Well, a flying visit back to the UK, but back home now. John.
  3. Hi Stix, and thanks for asking but no, I'm still waiting on the doctor getting in touch with me. She's probably still on holiday. Work has ground to a halt on the M51 at the moment as I'm in the UK trying to spend more money than I ever have before (not counting the mortgage). Hope that you are well. John.
  4. That looks really good Tom. I did something very similar with a Tamiya Cromwell in 1/48th. Nice work. John.
  5. When you have a model of this quality, you need to use figures to match, and they don't come much better than Alpine. Great work Ed. John.
  6. Oh the joys of being young enough to rip a bathroom apart. I'm glad that I've got to the age when I can say, "Sod it! It'll do me until I pop my clogs". John.
  7. On your first post, the photo appeared, but on your second post, all that appeared was a link. John.
  8. Sorry, I should have been bit more specific. They are the air lines John.
  9. Very nice Jim. Looking at your avatar, begs the question......did you model for this bust? John.
  10. Brilliant model. i like it very much. Do they supply the suzies or did you make them yourself? John.
  11. And it was worth doing as it has turned out very well. Nice one. John.
  12. Thank you very much gents. There isn't much difference between the primer coat and the top coat when looking at the photos. It could well be the lighting that I used, a couple of illuminated magnifying lamps. But I can assure you that it is different to the primer. It has a very slight reddish brown tinge. It'll change anyway once the various coats of varnish and weathering goes on. John.
  13. That's an excellent piece of scratch building. Great work. John.
  14. Thanks Paul and Roger for taking the time to comment. Yes, I hope that it won't be too before it's finished as my interest begins to flag if it goes on for too long. And fairly happy with the stowage (at least it was a lot cheaper than Legend!!) John.
  15. Hi Ed, and thank you very much for your comments. That tissue is actually industrial towel roll that we used to use when I worked for Mobil, down at Coryton. It's strong enough to be soaked in dilute PVA glue, but not fall apart when it's manipulated. I've since revisited the machine gun and bulked it out a bit more, as I thought that it looked a bit anorexic. John.
  16. Welcome aboard from a former railway modeller, and now military modeller, mainly IDF, mainly Shermans. I loved my time building model railways, but in the end it just got too damned expensive. A Tamiya M51 is much more affordable. John.
  17. Oh, there's definitely another one in the planning. As to the "sand coloured", there are various shades of that. Even AK and Vallejo can't agree on the same shade. Thanks for your comments Graham. John.
  18. They're the only kind that I deal in. The interior detail is coming on a treat. I just hope that it will still be visible once completed. Nice work. John.
  19. Nice work with the stripes, and the exhausts look very good. John.
  20. Ah, yes. I know that problem very well. Instead of 1/35th scale SU-76 photos, we'll accept 1/1 scale bathroom photos. Good luck with the work. John.
  21. Thanks for the warning. Fortunately, I didn't touch it. John.
  22. Some of these moths know a thing or two about cammo schemes. That's a cracker. John.
