  1. hey gents, reporting back some success with making a pressure chamber. Only $4 for a used pressure cooker and $40 for a tap and brass fittings. Worked well enough for the clarity i need. thanks for all the tips cheers gregory
  2. Thanks again all for the good tips. I'll follow up with some pics with hopefully some successful casts. cheers
  3. hi again, tried to use the airbrush compressor to pressure cast, but it was to much for my rinky dink chamber. Saw pump this on Amazon. It's cheap. Any opinions on if it would degass? And if it would could i get by with my simple tube hook-up? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012CFTYX4?refRID=KMGNQH6T06HH5CC3AYQP&ref_=pd_ybh_a_3 thanks again for any help / opinion! gregory
  4. Thanks Fader and Choc-ice, I was thinking maybe under powered vacuum might be the problem. I'll try the pressure cast technique, see if my rinky dink will work with that. If not look for an old fridge motor. Thanks for giving me the confidence to keep going on it. gregory
  5. hello Brit Modelers, I'm trying to build a vacuum chamber from an old airbrush compressor by switching the hose to the threaded intake. It creates a vacuum but will not degass the silicone or clear casting material. (pic below) Any ideas on my design fail? Is their simply not enough suction (i have a large air compressor but the intake is not a threaded hole, it's a large plate) or do i not have a tight enough seal? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. new here and i see this thread is a bit old. So hoping to connect. thanks !!! grgeory
