  1. Hello gents, im looking at buying my first airbrush. Ive done a little reading and have a general idea of what i need. Im thinking of investing in the Iwata for neo kit. At £171 thats stretching my budget( the wifes limit), and i wondered if you wise airbrush gurus would recomend this kit. My modeling focus is in 1/48 armour, 1/72 aircraft, and bolt action wargames minis. any advice would be most appreciated.
  2. enjoyed building this kit. still learning hoe to use filler and things so build isnt perfect and those snakes were a right pain. brush painted.
  3. heres my brush painted effort on tamiyas 1/48 panzer iv. took a free shot at the camo in the absence of an air brush. ( which im building up to). and i used some after market decals from echelon. hope you like it gents.
  4. thanks gents. nice to have the memory jogged to happy times by something that gave me so much pleasure as a boy. glad you like them.
  5. the paras seemed to be of a harder plastic and the detail was pretty good. the tommys however are alot softer. they are a bit of a pain to get the flash and ejection pin marks off. anything to abrasive cut right into the plastic. i used a blade to trim most of it down and believe it or not a buff and polish pad for doing ladies nails. the quality of the detail is not as good as on the paras as well. but for less than 3 quid a box cant complain.
  6. so i walk into home bargains for a few bits and find Airfix 1/32 ww2 british infantry and ww2 british paratroopers on the shelf for £2.99 a box. so i think ill have a bit of that if only for nostalgia reasons. had emense fun painting these up. not perfect by any means. missed a couple of ejection pin marks and some of em where a pain to get the flash off. but hay ho theyre keeping me quiet.

    Airfix decals

the last couple of airfix kits ive built ive used humbrol decal fix. soaked the decals in the solution and applied onto a thin layer of solution. all came out fine. no silvering and softened to the surfaces really well.
  8. The last picture was taken in natural daylight. The other last night under the room light hence the yellow glow. I put the two up just to show before and after weathering. Thanks for the positive comments though. I'm only just getting into the hobby properly.
  9. just a few pics of my last build. another really enjoyable kit from tamiya in this range. used a few new items from mig ammo on this some good some not so good. bought the mig ammo smart set for british vehicles which included the fabled scc15. to my great disappointment this colour turned out to be deep bronze green and very glossy. so after a bit of digging i went with mike stramers vallejo mix of russian uniform and olive grey. i was however quite impressed with the mig filter for green vehicles. havnt ventured into anything like this before but will certainly use again. anyhoo i digress heres the pics hope you like it.
  10. hi all looking for some after market decals for 1/48 scale german armour. track 48 do have some decent ones but id prefer to get them from uk. Does anyone have any sources. Thanks in advance.
  11. these are va couple of kits ive revisited with some weathering and stowage. im still experimenting with weathering and trying to learn as i go. the tiger is a complete rescue job with regards to the camo finish and both are brush painted. maybe looking into getting an airbrush in the future.
  12. well gents this is my first real try at producing a kit with any real kind of weathering finish. im still learing and had a few hickups with this one but i guess its all a learning curve.
