Hey all.
First, thank you for the information.
Second, I found a couple of possible paints to help me sort out my current Azure Blue dilemma.
Having broken out the test spoons, and laying down the colors I'll likely be using for the upper surface camo (AK's 3rd Gen Middle Stone and Model Master ANA 617 Dark Earth) I discovered the following:
1. Duck Egg Blue is both too light and a bit too green. (Left of the spoon)
2. AK's 3rd Gen Deep Sky Blue is a bit too bright. (Middle)
3. AK's 3rd Gen Sky Blue strikes me as being a good base blue with which to work, just need to add, I'm guessing, the correct ratios of purple, grey, or some sort of darker blue to help bring it more into line with the paint chips I've seen. (Right of the spoon.)
I've also stumbled across this combo of Tamiya colors for the plane's upper and lower surfaces:
The XF-59 and XF-64 looks pretty good to me for the upper camo colors. The XF-23, on the other hand, looks as promising as the AK Sky blue, and am hoping that it might be a bit easier to mix to get as close to the correct tone of A.B. as I can.
If they don't show up with this post, I'll add the photos later on, so you'll know what in the hell I'm going on about.
Cheers!
