  1. It's not the paint I'm worried getting its the Aqua Gloss, it's hard as nails...
  2. Windolene eh?? Would that cut through Aqua Gloss? Really? I'll pick some up and give it ago...... Stand by....
  3. I've had a disaster!!! Ive totally got the tinting wrong... In the following you'll understand why.... What I think I'd done was to add too many layers of the blue, the clear cote can only clear-up so much. GUTTED!! Not much I can do now as Aqua Gloss is hard as nails. I guess cellulose thinner would remove the Aqua Gloss but it would also remove the canopy.....
  4. Canopy tinting, I mentioned it earlier.. Well I think I've sussed it and it's not that hard. I used Vallejo's transparent blue thinned down and sprayed in very light coats, I between coats I cut to air on the airbrush just to quick dry. When I thought I'd done enough, you know got the right sort of colour I was looking for, I was left with a massively opaque mess. Then enter the magic ingredient... Alclad Aqua Gloss, a couple of coats of this ace clear cote and the canopy clears up beautifully.... Ok lads, it's not perfect but it's something I can work on.....
  5. Not at all Si welcome aboard. If you can find something to help you bud then my work here is done! There's still plenty to do, plenty to go wrong.... Cheers Si
  6. No FAA it's not the photo, it seems to be wrong. That's what you for checking reference's I guess...bugger! I don't do 32 scale at all (way too big) but found the Lynx great. I think I've finished with 72...! Cheers buddy
  7. Thanks a lot Big Mouth. Tbh the kit is fine well worth £15. I think sometimes Revell gets a bad press, I know they're a bit hit and miss, as long as it's new tool and bigger than 72 they're fine..
  8. Cheers Rodders I put quite of bit of weight in cause I wasn't sure. Interesting about the blades mate.. Ta bud
  9. Hi guys, long time no see.... I've been mooching around but not doing anything with the old Lynx since. The canopy arrived sometime before Chrimbo, I did think it might have got lost in the post. I tried some experiments on tilting the canopy but made a right mess of the old one. If anybody's got a foolproof method, please let know (send a link maybe), it's too late for this kit but I do need to know... Anyway.. The new canopy test fitting...perfect fit.. Overhead.. Ready for priming.. Primed with Badger Stynylrez. I said it before, if you haven't yet used this stuff, you really must, it'll change your (priming) life.. Smooth and satin... I'm back on the Lynx now so expect some more updates soon.. Cheers lads
  10. A smashing thread! What a nice little aeroplane as well. The mighty MiG is on its way but maybe I ought to "break myself in" with this lovely looking kit?
  11. Cheers splatt.I'm not looking forward to the decals mate if I'm honest. Paint? Well according to the imodelkit app I could get away with Mr Hobby Aquaous H308 with a splash of white...who I'm I to argue? Canopy turned up the other day as well...!
