  1. Ive messaged the seller, hopefully they'll respond. Im hoping the cost wont be too bad, a seeing as they are USA based.
  2. Hi Mike, A quick question, If they are unwilling to resize, would there be much size difference between 1/350 scale to my 1/400 model?
  3. Hi guys, I want to convert my old 1/400 scale Revell 100th Anniversary RMS Titanic into HMHS Britannic in her hospital ship livery. Ive seen 3D printed parts for the larger davits & the stern raised deck platforms in various scales:- https://www.shapeways.com/product/5SLR2FQQQ/hmhs-britannic-life-boat-davits-and-crosses-1-700t?optionId=301515960&li=more-from-shop https://www.shapeways.com/product/WUMGEN3SX/britannic-aft-decks-and-forward-cargo-doors-1-700?optionId=299283321&li=more-from-shop 1/700 (most common) 1/570 1/350 1/200 Unfortunately I cannot find these anywhere in 1/400 scale, do any of you know of anywhere else I could try to buy these (as ive drawn a blank) or maybe a link for the .STL files (as I know someone who might be able to print these) Also, maybe some 1/400 scale decals for the "Britannic" lettering, although I can do those myself, if i can find the proper font. Cheers in advance, Wayne
  4. I did use a toothbrush to scrub in the Dettol indeed. Ive bought some "Elbow Grease" brand oven cleaner spray, as ive seen people use "Easy Off" brand oven spray in the USA on Youtube. It foamed up really well in my tub, so fingers crossed that works.
  5. Hi guys, I bought a Belkits Skoda Fabia off ebay already built for £13 & it needed some attention (like in Wheeler Dealers, lol) I decided to strip the bodyshell with Dettol diluted & everything came off with no problem. But then i was left with a lot of gunk & then saw on Youtube that I should have soaked in NEAT Dettol from the start to eliminate the gunk. So i re-soaked the bodyshell in neat Dettol & while it has taken most of the gunk away, im left with little bits that feel literally welded on & i cant remove them. Ive tried label remover spray i got from work, re-soaking in soapy water, WD-40 and nothing wont shift those last few bits of gunk. Is there anything else I can try? Cheers in advance, Wayne.
  6. Ive used white decal paper in the past, with mixed results. But for the white driver/co driver lettering would disappear & blend in with the clear rear side window part & you wouldnt be able to make them out. TBH, I wouldnt really want to cut around each letter with some small scissors & at 1/24 scale the biggest the lettering would be is about 3mm (captial letters) & 1.5mm (lower case) Ive had a look at Patto's place, some interesting options for other builds ive got, TYVM for that link.
  7. Cheers for that. Ive dropped him a message over Facebook, he's going to see what he can do & the price's he's quoted me are really very reasonable.
  8. Looking at the Halfords Camo range, they also carry 2 browns. One just called Brown & the other Khaki Brown, im think the first brown might suit, id have to pop down to my local store & have a look at the color label. Ive also read that RAL7013 is really close to the Brown Bess, but Ive found that camo spray paint that you can use for airsoft guns could suffice & they list them in RAL colors, but some of them say on the can/instructions on website you dont need primer & you can just spray it directly on, but a sanding is required, im a bit dubious about doing that, as id rather spray a coat of primer on first. Along with the fact that the shiny plastic that the nerf gun is made out of, will need to be sanded down a bit first, as the shiny part dont like to take a coat of paint.
  9. Nice find there. There some interesting stuff on that site up for auction. Liking the Visitor's uniform & weapons to go with it, along with the Battlestar Galactica TOS Colonial Warrior uniform & helmet, even the William Shatner screen worn away team overcoat from The Wrath of Khan. Shame I aint got a few grand, id love to own them for cosplay.
  10. Hi guys, Im wondering if you can get white lettering decals for 1/24 model cars for the driver names. Thinking about getting a Belkits 1/24 Hyundai I20 WRC model kit, but they dont have the lettering for Craig Breen for the rear window, an example in the below image. There are some made by MF-Zone, but are very rare, I have seen some white lettering decals made by Microscale, but they list them in train scale, im wondering what the train scale would be suitable for 1/24 cars? Cheers in advance. Wayne.
  11. I know it takes time between drying time apllications. But the end result is totally worth the wait. Nice job on both.
  12. Yer welcome OM. Hope this helps with yer progress.
  13. Not bad at all there fella. On Youtube there is a channel called MarklinofSweden & his scenery how-to's are really imaginitive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TwpB7sVMn8 I used the above link to make my 1/72 RNLI Lifeboat sea diorama, using his method of toilet paper & pva glue & came out really well after painting. My Lifeboat Diorama Cheers, Wayne.
  14. Halfords Clear Lacquer in a can goes down really well, I've found. Brought out a nice sheen, when I used it to seal my Tamiya Tom's Castrol Toyota Supra. But that's only on acrylic, didn't work so well on enamels.
  15. Bought a can of AS-20 Insignia White off ebay the other day & it arrived with no problems. But while the can was factory sealed with that clear wrap they use, the can had an older Tamiya label on it. When shaking it ready for first use the feeling of the can contents felt quite thick as opposed the liquidy feel when you buy a new can & when I pressed the nozzle it just dribbled out and went all over my hand. I emailed the seller & he did admit he'ed had the can for a fair few years and that the propellant could have probably dissipated over the years & he refunded me with no problems & told me to keep the can & said maybe I could decant it for an airbrush. I told him I dont own an airbrush due to SWMBO, but i'm thinking how can I decant the paint if there is no propellant in the can? Ive seen the straw trick into a jar, but that looks like it only works if there is indeed propellant in the can, also i've seen people puncturing the can, but i'm not sure whether I want to attempt that. Its just seems a shame to throw away a full can. Cheers in advance, Wayne.
  16. Ive got no problem with drilling a hole in my turret stations. Ive managed to find some images & some sites selling a battery box with the wires included, but yer right they aint cheap (especially as im in the UK) Im just wondering what the white connectors that clip into the battery pack are called. Ive seen 2 pin, 3 pin, 5 pin etc...etc... But the description just says "Bandai battery pack & led's compatible with Bandai Gunpla & Star Wars Kits" which doesn't give me much to go on. I only want one or two of these led wires to make use of the spare slots.
  17. Hi guys, Just finished closing the top & bottom of the Falcon up, connected all the leds into the kit supplied battery pack to make sure they all still work. Painting the 2 gun turrets areas for the Luke & Han figures respectively & Ive just realised how am I going to light the turret interiors? I can do it with a 9V led wire, but there are 2 spare connector docks on the kit supplied battery pack & I was wondering if I could buy 2 third party led wires/w connectors that could be compatible with the Bandai battery box? I couldn't understand why Bandai would omit putting the 2 extra led's & manufacture the battery box to have two spare connector docks? Any recommendations? Cheers in Advance, Wayne.
  18. My son bought me one of these for Father's Day this year. His was on backorder for over a year & he paid the standard price, whatever is was at the time. I did some research on what the paint color might be & i found Halfords do camo colors in a 300ml can & im thinking the green in that selection could suffice.
  19. Hi guys, been a while since I posted on here, hope everyone had a great chrimbo. I have a quick question. I bought a Wesco Enterprise-E wall radio a few years back, as seen in the below youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvRHq9P1tgA The stickers on the Enterprise have started to peel off & I was trying to do a search for some decals/aztecs, but I cannot find any info online about the scale of this wall radio. The guy in this video states it might be 1/1000 scale, can anyone confirm this? Cheers in advance, Wayne.
  20. Just a little update & I've had no luck. Renaisance have never done that livery & MF-Zone (who designed that Transkit/Decal set) have decided to discontinue the set. Oh well, NVM. I'll just keep looking, you never know.
  21. Cheers Vesa, I have done that. Im not sure if Renaisance ever did a decal sheet in that livery, as seen in the below link. https://www.spotmodel.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=Citroen+DS3+WRC All ive found is MF-Zone. https://www.hiroboy.com/124_Citroen_DS3_WRC_Meeke_Ostberg_Tour_de_Corse_2015_decals_resin_parts_PE_Transkit--product--10967.html And like i said above, either out of stock or discontinued & I only want the decal sheet, not the trans-kit part of it.
  22. Hi guys, been a while since I posted last. But I need some help. I recently bought a Heller 1/24 Citroen DS3 WRC Kit & I wanted to put some aftermarket decals on. Namely, the livery from the 2015 season that Citroen changed half-way through the season from Rally Portugal onwards, as seen below. But I can't find the decal sheet anywhere worldwide in 1/24, all sites are out of stock. I've found plenty of 1/43 sized & some of the sites are listing them out of stock included with a transkit. So, have any of you guys got a spare decal sheet for this livery or have one stored on your computer that can be emailed over? Any help would be gratefully received. Cheers in advance, Wayne.
  23. I finally got my hands on the Bandai AT-AT. But i went Batman mad again last week & snipped me up 2 old Revell kits at £15 each:- Batman Forever Batmobile Batman Forever Batboat Both from the same uk seller, box was slightly dented as they were old, but tge sprues are still bagged up & sealed. I could have gotten a complete set with a Batwing from USA, but i think ebay are charging customs on USA auctions as they wanted £20 upfront. So it would have cost me £70, instead of £50, shame really. Still on the lookout for a Batwing, but not at £45 on ebay ATM.
  24. It's been a few months since the my last build, the Maquis Raider in February & after just over 2 months of work on a failed 1/350 USS Arizona, it's now time for my next build. This time it's the re-issued AMT 1/25 Batwing from the 1989 Batman movie. Starting off with gluing the 2 halves of each wing together with electrical tape to hold whilst the glue dried. Then continuing on the bottom half of the Batwing with gluing the landing gear covers & filling in the gaps on the landing gear, as the panel line trenches were too deep & sanding those down to still leave a nice line. Gluing the Batman figure together was, the 2 halves of his body & the 2 halves of his arms, which were outer arms & inner forearms with his wrist claws. I test fitted the completed wings onto the bottom part of the Batwing, but a L shaped locking arm prevented me from removing one of the wings, but it didnt prevent me from running the glue into the wing & again I used electrical tape to hold those down whilst the glue dried Sanding down the seams down from each side of Batman's body & the sides of his arms, I then glued his completed arms into his torso. A gap had to filled in on the bridge of each arm into the batsuit, once the filler had dried, they sanded down really nice. I then started work on the cockpit tub, gluing the seat into place with some tape & a g-clamp to hold the seat down. Then came the stabiliser fins on the bottom & top of the Batwing along with 2 guns mounted on the front sides, which the guns had a massive seam on the inner side, so I sanded those flat to make them mount onto the side of the fuselage better when glued into place. Once all done, I then primered Batman, the cockpit tub along with the dashboard & control sticks/steering wheel. I'd actually forgotten to glue the targeting arm with targeting reticule into place, but instead of having the reticule in front of Batman's face, I instead glued it back onto the targeting arm so you could see Batman's face, but to give it the mounted look just before he pulls it out in front of his face to target Joker standing on the ground in front of his float. Painting everything in matt black, picking out the belt in Humbrol 26 trainer yellow & 61 flesh for Batman's face. Then came the primering of the 2 pieces of the Batwing, all the filling of the deep panel lines left a great finish & the panel lines are still there just a lot less deep. Finishing off the cockpit tub with the console decals & the Batman crest onto the chest of the Batsuit, then Microset & Sol with Humbrol Satincote to seal. The cockpit tub is now ready to be mounted into the underneath of the top half of the Batwing. Cheers, Wayne.
