  4. ciao very good suggestion that I will check for shure the question that a manufacturer of any good on the planet should send checked items on the market and respond in due time of any defect of any product remains untouched if I want to buy a resin replacement should be my choice not a compulsory action in other words if I buy a car I m not supposed to go elsewhere to buy wheels and tires after having payed full price to the car manufacturer if iI want carbon fibre wheels with low profile tyres it's my business otherwise fiat or ford should provide me 4 wheels to go having payed them totally agree with you and thanks for suggestions ciao giuliano
  5. ciao perfect suggestion actually I cheked wikipedia learning that heller was under maped joustra I wrote them and they told me about glow2b to whom I wrote by return so I squared the circle now waiting for answers hopefully thanks a lot for advice the world is a complicate place anyway ciao giuliano
  6. Hello Jeroen! Very good idea, simple as it may seem. Luckily I have an old record and I was able to remember that I bought it from Rue das Maquettes Let's have a try! Thanks a lot! Ciao. Giuliano
  7. Good afternoon everybody! I have bought recently a kit of the Heller Citroen Furgon HY and to my big dismay opening the box I found the gummy tires as having been chewed by a monster. Sent a mail with attached pics to Heller asking for replacement. Nothing Sent a reminder after two months, covid permitting. Nothing. Sent another remainder after another month. Nothing. Today I have sent them a very strong request as this is not the way to do under any circumstances with valuable and trustful customer. It may happen everywhere that a product has a defect but the producer should acknowledge and fix the problem in due course. If they dont fix my problem, small as it may be, I will never in my life buy another Heller kit and fellows modellers reading this I think wil not do either. Revell or Airfix or Italeri will send you the needed parts next day most of the times for free expecially when is their fault with a poor part, not modeller's fault who has spoiled some part and requests a spare. Keep you posted if they will have the decence to give me an answer. All the best!!!! giuliano
  8. ciao still planning and grasping the full picture of the whole argument not to waste money buying wrong stuff and waiting for a coffee with giorgio across our local motorway next to the tiny airport that will be graced by the silver beauty sometimes next november thanks fo help advice support and suggestions measure twice cut once is valid also for the wallet!!!!!!!!! ciao giuliano
  9. ciao Giorgio we should definitely meet around bresso for a coffee as things to debate are so interesting my understanding was oriented for an early as the box contains both bottom wing parts and types with long and short carb intake and corresponding underwing seat as far as the top is concerned i would xkit with the top wing of a w/end edition of a XIV with the correct top wheelbay drop bulge that for a little 13 euros saves me a lot of headache considering the mirrorlike finish of the beast but I can be obviously wrong dunno how to send you a pm for a coffe but I need expert advice as I'm totally ignorant on this matter. ciao e grazie giuliano
  10. Hi everybody! I'm happy to have triggered such a nice discussion! I'have been out for some days then tomorrow I'll go through all this academic suggestions more thoroughly, but I convinced myself to buy a mk.IX early #8282 as per scooby suggestion and a mk.XVI weekend edition #84141 to crosskit the upper side of the wing as suggested by giorgio n (let's have a coffe somewhere as we leave so close that a chat on this topic will be so nice!) for the time thanks for pumping all this precious advice I'll read carefully ciao giuliano
  11. Hi chaps! Very very interesting reading and lectures from real Spit experts! Sayng that I understood a dime would be a total lie as I'm a Spit fanatic knowing very little about it, but that I was born exacly 20 years after on 05-03-1956!!!!!!!! Said so, I'm wondering wich Eduard's box I have to grasp on the Net to replicate the silver G-IRTY that is about to complete it's world tour passing through our local Milano Bresso Airport next November! Early or Late? This is the question! It's a LF Mk. IXc and to make things even much more complicate it has been heavily modified to perform as a globetrotter in many corners. Being a lazy boy I will make use of your huge expertise not to buy the wrong box and discover the mistake next day! Decals are on the horizon graced by Mr. Drawbaugh of Draw decals but I need your total knowledge to drive me on the right path with substantiated cues on the tricky matter through bumps and bulges. Thanks for coop as we say in this occasions! Giuliano Provera Milano
  12. Hi guys! Just to share my experience with Raf. Ordered B.777 Alitalia new c/s. Received tracking number. Followed the shipment that unfortunately finished as delivered in Crotone deep southern Italy while I live in Milan. Not his fault obviously but lousy postal service. Sent him an email. Answered that another sheet has been posted with relevant tracking number. Duly received well packed and in perfect conditions (by snail mail but received). Now he has informed me that an errata corrige has been issued and that he will send it to me in due course. I have to say nothing short than perfect. That's it! Ciao Giuliano
  13. Good morning everybody! My personal experience. I bought an AV-8B+ in 1/32 from Downgrocerystore that has very good prices and perfect service. When checking pieces found that the tip of lower part of underwing tank and the small underwing tank strake where not fully injected so a little bit phocomelic. Nothing disastrous but........... Contacted Trumpeter by e-mail After one month sent a remainder. After two days got very kind answer with apologies and promise to send spare sprue. Just to confirm if their understanding was correct they have sent me a picture of the relevant sprue. And it was ok. Now waiting for the spares. At the moment nothing to say about their customer service but that is very good. At least they are there and they answer queries in due time. May be a kind and detailed request will help them serving us in the good mood. Happy modelling. Giuliano
  14. Thanks so much to all contributors to this topic! Having worked for ESCI from 1978 to 1982 and then being a very close friend of the late tech director that migrated to Italeri I know that sometimes kit makers need some adv fom avgeeks and after all reading this forum is F.O.C.! All the best to everybody! Giuliano
  15. Asked Hornby as follows: Good morning! I would like to model an old DC-3 I saw in Alaska ages ago. I am undecided between buyng kit 08014 or 08015 as I am seeking the the closest possible configuration (i.e. I need skis and short carburetor intakes). Simple question: are the parts on sprues the same or there are differencies between the two kits? Thank-you for your patience! Have a nice day! Giuliano received following answer that frankly speakingis is not making my mind totally clear: Dear Giuliano, Thank you for your email, some of the main sprues will be similar if not the same but A08014 contains ski's which A08015 will not have included. So some parts will only be available in one kit and not the other and vice versa. I will go for the 08014 becouse of skis. Carb intake ramains a question mark but just in case is easyer to scratchbuild. All the best! Giuliano
