Thanks for the heads up on the Tamiya decals. I’ve one of these kits in the stash, sounds as though I should scrap the kit decals and keep an eye out for some aftermarket decals.

You’ve built the best model of one of the most iconic starships from one of the greatest scale model manufacturers in history, I’m afraid it’s all downhill from here. On the bright side, anything else will be an opportunity to develop your modeling skills as not much else comes in “Perfect Grade”.

I received the same email. Similar to John, I did not have a lot of content stored in Photobucket (about 300 images) and I was a subscriber of one of Photobucket's affordable plans. Whether the ransom is paid in one hit or in monthly instalments, it doesn't change how ridiculously over the top $399 per annum is for photo hosting. I have cancelled my Photobucket subscription which was due to renew next month and made alternative arrangements with respect to image hosting. I suspect image hosting does not generate any revenue for the host site because no traffic "lands" on the host site's web page where the image is displayed along with advertisements. The forum thread in which the image is displayed links directly to the image file on the host site's server. Serving up image files costs real money. Other image hosters are constrained by the same issue as Photobucket - serving up image files without any advertising revenue is a loss generating business.

I concur with many other contributors, even without images, a thread may offer valuable information regarding references, detailing, assembly issues and paints. If a find and replace database script were to be used, some thought would need to be put into how to distinguish between threads that were displaying Photobucket's P500 image and those that continue to display a member's Photobucket images (because they have a paid-up subscription). For a paid-up subscriber, there would be nothing more annoying than having paid to avoid image loss and then having to relink those images because of an indiscriminate script on the forum database.

Sprue gates are too large and there might be a bit of flash somewhere - obviously unbuildable. Airfix needs to consult the "mad riveter". In all seriousness, I hope Airfix smashes some records with this new release, they've been pretty good in bringing new things to market lately and more money in the coffers would allow that to continue. Good luck Airfix.

I wasn't a member of Britmodeller when this first appeared so it is a real treat to see it resurrected. Today I thank Photobucket for their cash-grabbing suicide. It's an awesome diorama. I can see why you are proud of it. I would be too. The workshop benches are so realistic that they remind me of my family garage in the 1970s. Outstanding work.

There's some nice clean work there, looks good. I like the stand you've made for it too, haven't seen anything exactly like that before.

What an impressive build of a truly unique aircraft! You have inspired me to get one of these kits so that I can have a crack at that challenging camouflage pattern (one day). I'm very restrictive about adding to the stash these days but this one's just too good to pass. Thanks for sharing your build and reminding me how unique this Swedish aircraft is.

Very nice work. And thank you for sharing a bit about your experience with the kit. I have one in the stash and I am looking forward to making a start on it in the next couple of years (I'm not one to rush a build). Looks pretty close to the real deal: Job well done!

A real pleasure reviewing your build. I very much liked the subtle panel colour alterations on the upper fuselage and wings, and the underside did not disappoint with some appropriately coloured and positioned oil streaking, and the colour variation to the rear fuselage heat shielding shows that you know a thing or two about Phantoms. Well done. 10 out of 10 for a 1/72 build.

I really like what you have achieved on this project thus far. The aircrew looked good, as did the rest of the cockpit finishing. The gunner's display panel was a highlight for me. The layering you have achieved on the fuselage gives it a certain otherworldly appearance that is kind of reminiscent of aircraft flying at high altitude (i.e. cold extremes) which would be appropriate for a snowspeeder operating on Hoth or some other icy world.
