  1. Hello all, I had another question. I tried purchasing Tamiya grey primer for great-hobbies, which costs $12.99, but because it's in aerosol form and is classed as a dangerous good, shipping alone would set me back $30. My question is, are there any equivalents I can buy that will do the same job if not better, from my local stores, Canadian Tire, Rona, Reno, Canac, Home-Hardware etc? As I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the shipping charges! Thanks kindly again, James Andrews
  2. Thank you Jessica, I live in Quebec- but if nothing else arises I shall call them tomorrow, and see if they can bundle them together and ship them off, thanks for the speedy response too!
  3. Afternoon, Hope your all having a peaceful weekend, and managed to work on your models! I am looking for some advice- I'm only aware of greathobbies.ca that supply modeling supplies in Canada, are there any other online stores that are based in Canada that I can order from, it seems Greathobbies only has Micro Set available while Micro Sol is currently out of stock, is there another place that I can order from and expect it to arrive in the coming week? Also Milliput seems to be the hands down favorite for modelers alike, if I can't find Milliput white online (excluding eBay) are there any other equal equivalents that can be purchased, from places like Rona, Reno, Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Canac etc? Your help as always is greatly appreciated! Cheers, James Andrews
  4. Hello all, Well after UPS refused to deliver because the temperature dipped below -38, I finally received my Tamiya tape- and waited no time to get my model back on track. I attached a few pictures to help you see, the big reveal should be soon, I'm just waiting for it to dry! Stay safe & warm! James Andrews
  5. Sadly I don't have an airbrush, I was looking today in my local art shops to see if they had anything, but turns out they don't. I'm sure one day I'd be serious to purchase one, but for right now I'm still learning as I go, and I feel I have a lot to learn before I can lay my hands on an airbrush. And I'll make sure to submit some more work in progress pictures. Have a great evening Richard.
  6. Gentlemen, Your opinions are greatly appreciated!!! It amazes me how many fellow Canadian are on here, that's a really neat thing to see. I will ditch the Rona, and shall purchase (well order, as there's nothing close to my home town) the following: http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=TAM87033 as well as http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=TAM87035 Also to answer your question Moaning Dolphin, no I did NOT prime it, as I didn't have any, and to be honest didn't think it would be needed, how wrong I was. I had another question that I'd like to ask, should I wash the plastics after I've cut them out, or is that not needed? Thanks for the support, it's ever so appreciated. I'll get to work tonight on tidying her up, you guys have saved me! Thanks again! James Andrews
  7. Hi All, I've just joined the forum, as I've searched for a forum that's full of friendly advice. I'm currently building the Revell A319 in BA colors, I haven't had a lot of trouble building the aircraft as such, but painting has been a different story. I'm using Tamiya TS-51 blue paint, and marked off the bottom using regular masking tape, and once it has dried I took the tape off to see good my lines were- needless to say they weren't very good, it's almost like the blue paint 'bled' through the tape. I can't figure what I'm doing wrong, should I be using specified modeling tape? Am I spraying to close? Am I spraying to much? Your help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks from a bitterly cold -29 morning in Canada! James Andrews
