  1. Well into building this chap. very impressive but has anyone else got one as I'm pretty sure his helmet's far too big for his body. looks like it's a completely different scale. Could it be that the helmet is based on the helmet series they do which I've seen advertised as 1/5 not 1/6 . I'd post some pictures but not sure how on a tablet at the moment
  2. Looks good . Nice restrained weathering like the red cockpit lighting in particular. I know Revell get criticism but with the exception of the 'rubbery' crew figures they do there are some pretty good kits , notably the AT RT and their recent smaller Tie fighters
  3. Just what the doctor ordered , a proper war film with death destruction and cool stormtroopers . i predict it will outshine The force awakens by a country mile.
  4. Excellent stuff. Massive potential for creating the different versions of the phase 2 clones. I'll have several please. Revell do a drop ship in 1/72 already and it has featured here in Clone Wars colours. I have one and although not in the same league as a Bandai one it could be pretty good with a bit of effort It's my favourite vehicle , very Hind/ Hueyish
  5. Indeed . Far more impressive than those pesky stormtroopers, and they can shoot straight
  6. I'm treating him as finished and I'm going to move on to a Shock Trooper Clone. ( Maybe not quite as weathered though) For those who haven't seen the WIP section it is a 31 Inch Jakks Pacific Toy. I bought it on a bit of a ' Moment of madness' but it has turned out to be quite imposing and now resides on a shelf by my DVD collection. I have included an image of it in its natural state to give an idea of the difference. For me modelling is fun and relaxing and I'll have a go at anything although I appear to be suffering the influence of the force at the moment and have been drawn to the planet 'Bandai' in recent weeks ! Merry Christmas everyone
  7. Thought I'd post a photo of the Coruscant Clone trooper I picked up on Ebay for the princely sum of £40.00. as a direct comparison really. Cody should be done this weekend work commitments allowing. I think i'll try and adjust his arms and weapon possibly to the longer DC15 rifle and much less extreme on the wear and tear.
  8. Thanks guys, i'm flattered. I never posted anything on the web before. He was i recollect about £30.00 which is excellent value. I'm tempted to do another, but putting it somewhere might be a challenge (Well for my wife at least !) I'll post a few more when it's finished . Nearly there
  9. There's a story there as I was ebaying one evening and saw it advertised . I'd had a couple of beers as you do on a Friday night and sat there thinking " 31 inches tall , that doesn't seem too big" Anyway it turned up,my wife had a sense of humour failure and the rest as they say is history. I would say though that there's a lot of potential in some of these figures. Although it is very big it doesn't look too overpowering. I keep it on a shelf with my DVDs and it looks pretty cool . It would look particularly good with one of the red and white clones that Jakks do. The only down side is the pose is identical on all of them Forgot to mention I used Flory wash black to get the weathered look . It was good at getting in the texture of the white and giving it a more convincing look. White on a battlefield ? What were they thinking.
  10. This is as far as I've got. Some detailing on the helmet and I need to spend a bit of time on the blaster. You'll notice that by subtle changes such as turning the head and the wrist angle of the blaster the posture looks much more natural.
  11. Bit more work done on the black suit, visor etc. and the helmet details. I also remade the rank insignia on his chest as it's a sticker on the original figure.
  12. This is how it looked after the orange was added to his armour
  13. Next I used hair spray on top of the primer and went over the top with Halfords Appliance white . With the top coat being a tough car type paint I was unable to use a tooth brush to distress it so I ended up using wire wool and water
  14. So. The figure quite simple but on examination it showed good potential for a re paint. First step was to fill the many screw holes in the back and get some primer on it . I used a Halfords car body filler and their plastic primer . ended up with this. And then this :-

  17. First post. Bought this on a whim as I've always been a fan of clones. Tried to achieve a suitably weathered appearance
  18. Very cool . Just ordered one via Amazon . Would make a very impressive diorama using a couple with several clones
  19. Is this the revell 1/74 model or one of the toy type ones ? Quite tempted .i like the Hueyish design of the drops hip
  20. Any group B car although preferably a Quattro S1 in 1/12
