  1. Just an FYI, the single part is to keep the wing seam from going right thru the gun holes. Always looks crappy. Nice work on your 'stang' John.
  2. Don't know if this helps but, it looks like the forward end (rounded) ends just in front of where the wheel would pivot up. Mudguard #5
  3. Yep, MkI/II, ICM fourth quarter of this year.
  4. Just kiddin' with you Andy, build it whenever you feel like. Always follow your fancy
  5. So it does KM, he must've had a blowout on the previous mission 😉 Thanks for the comment sir. Thank you Robert, all the silvers are MRP (I used white aluminum, duraluminum and silver) except for the painted/sealed wing surfaces where I used Alclad Dull Aluminum which I buffed with a very fine grit sponge abrasive. The blue is RAF marking blue and the red is RLM 23. I started with a white base (MRP white primer) with some grey and blue mottles. Thanks again. Hey Andy, how are you ? Have you built that Smirnoff Bearcat yet ? The spinner circles came out pretty well. I tried a new method (to me) using a Black and Decker hand drill. I stuck a C-clamp on the trigger so I could adjust the speed down fairly slow, then brush painted the blue stripes on the red spinner. Here's a pic of the original experiment. Thanks for lookin' in. Take care
  6. ... the extras being some Tamiya parts required to turn a -5 into a -15. I finished this one a few months ago and thot I'd share it here. The Tamiya parts are grey , also used the K-14 gunsight and throttle. Made the decals on an Alps except for the Stars and Bars and the stencils. Cheers ! 🙂👍
  7. Hi Steve, actually the Warren Macarthur seat was the later seat used on most Ds. The Schick Johnson was the earlier and used on A/B/Cs and some early -5 Ds. Either could be used so some Ds could have had SJ seats and some Bs could have had WM seats. Here's a pic of the one you want, Warren Macarthur ...
  8. ... and still carrying the HF TR9 in 1942 ?
  9. Actually no, the only accurate (dimensionally) wheels are the PCM resin. Their quality leaves something to be desired. Barracuda's Spitfire wheels are nice but the tire diameter is a little small. Same with GMF's. I plan to rework the Barracuda wheels. HPH
  10. Fly got the molds for the Hurricane from HPH. I think they added the resin parts (incorrect wheels, tires too large and wheel too small) and the cockpit and clear parts. It's a nice kit however.
  11. Also remember that the color your eye perceives depends on the light that it reflects. Not all light sources are equal. 🤓
  12. Any significance to the five spoke wheels ? Were they used on most Mk IVs ?
  13. Hi BIG, the supports are acrylic rod that measures .188 (inch) 4.77 (mm). I bent each by laying them in a frying pan of boiling water, then (quickly) bending them around a glass jar. Attached to base by gluing the rod into a hole with white glue. 3 of the 4 were attached to the model by inserting a small acrylic ball into a very slightly smaller hole in the model. The Mustang was attached by glueing a short piece of rod the the end of the curved rod forming an L (to keep the model from rolling over) shape at the end and then just sticking it in the radiator rear vent. The attachment can take other forms too, it just depends on what works best for you and it's display circumstances. HTH, have fun
  14. Very difficult to discern any pattern. It does not look 'standard' except for the dark splotches on the vert stab. As usual, pure conjecture is the order of the day. fule
