  1. Hello, here's my newest ship model completed after a hiatus off modeling. Pretty straight forward build with the Infinis super detail set! Hope you enjoy!
  2. Hey, Yes I use masking to create the "oil canning" effect. First base coat of gray and then using a piece of masking tape starting with the horizontal lines to mask the lines and spraying lighter shade of the gray. After that the vertical lines are sprayed and after this the effect is toned down with overspray.
  3. And we are back! Here's my just finished model of the Uss Missouri. As she was on her last tour in the Persian gulf participating in the Desert Storm in 1991. The base was the old Tamiya kit brought back to life with the Pontos advanced set. Also some Infinis detail sets were used. After that thousands of scratch build details added. Painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered using AK , Ammo and W&N products. For more detailed build log you can visit here: http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=167436 And for more pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/EfkWVOw Enjoy!
  4. Hey, I used the Tamiya nato colors. A lot of shading was done by lighting the colors though.
  5. Hi! I rarely build anything other than ship models but after a break it was nice to do something more "light". Here's the Mengs very nice Leopard 2A7! Mostly straight from the box just a few scratchbuild handles etc. added. Painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered by W&N oil paints.
  6. Here's one my model that I finished a year ago. It's the Tamiyas new tool Yamato with the Pontos set. I went for the final look before she was sunk. Here you can find build log: http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=163104 And the pictures which are new ones taken a few weeks ago!
  7. Wow, pretty strong compliments chaps! I'll be taking a break for a while now and planing the next project for the end of the year, in the mean while I most likely post some older models I finished if you haven't seen a glimpse of them around the net!
  8. Cheers everyone! Was definetly a fun build for me, glad you all enjoyed the finished ship!
  9. Hi, my first time posting here though I've been lurking around the forums for a while. I usually just post on modelwarships.com forums but here's some ship love! So here's my latest model of the Uss James E Williams made out of the Trumpeter Uss Momsen kit and with new Pontos detail set. Also thousands of scratch build details and modifications! You can find the build log here for those that are intrested: http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=166129 Reference used: https://www.navysite.de/dd/ddg95gallery.htm and https://www.navysite.de/dd/ddg95phototour.htm So without further ado here she is!
