  1. I would like to be involved in this group build, I have a Revell 1/32 AH-64A Apache that has been collecting dust on my shelf, I think this is a great opportunity to build it. Doing some research I found that the first Apaches on European soil were in 2/5 Cavalry Regiment, Illesheim, Germany in 1987. I hope this meets the GB requirements.
  2. Hi Julien, I'm afraid it doesn't, you can see the sprue shots and assembly instructions with this link below http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10176186
  3. Thank you for all your compliments, such an encouraging group on this site. My next long term project is the CVN-65 Big E by Tamiya, so back to plastic for a bit. My wife surprised me with the Corel Mystique, but I'm not sure I'm at that level yet, maybe another wooden kit before, we'll see. Cheers, Mark
  4. Thanks Grayson, it was surprisingly easy, the instructions are very straightforward, clear and concise. I did make a bunch of mistakes along the way but I'm happy with the effort and my first foray into wooden kits. Won't be the last either
  5. Hello All, this project has been ongoing for over a year and I'm happy to announce she's complete. Amati kits are beautiful, it was a delight to build and a welcome break from plastic. Thanks for looking, Mark
  6. Thank you all for the compliments . With regard to the paints I used, they are all from Tamiya, the metal areas is graphite applied with blending sticks found at an art supply shop.
  7. Hi All, built this some time ago and thought I'd post some pics. Thanks for looking Cheers
  8. The build is nearing completion..this past week was very busy for me so I couldn't get as far along as I hoped. I thinned down the light guards which took some time, but look decent enough as I hate doing Sherman photo-etch light guards, drives me nuts. I broke one of the rear guards so will be reproducing them with styrene strips, a lot easier than the front. I found some mesh for the ovular vents near the rear deck, they are a bit big but left them on anyway, they add a little extra detail the kit needs. Tools were added, i prefer to paint them in place, and jerry cans will be added later. Wheels and track are ready for the paint booth, and I'll apply some Vallejo Sandy Paste to the sponsons and running gear for dried mud and the beginnings of the weathering process. Thanks for looking, Cheers
  9. Progress continues.. I replaced the solid hatch grab irons with brass wire, and added the only aftermarket item I intend to use which is the aerial mount with a brass item. I will be thinning the plastic light guards so I filled their locating holes with Tamiya putty. Not much left to add, water and fuel jerry cans, tools, and some other bits, so should be close to the painting stage within the next couple of days. Thanks for the comments and thanks for looking.
  10. Thought I'd post some pics of a project I'm using as a bit of relief for another labour intensive build on Achtung Panzer group build. Details can be soft in places but the build itself is sublime, pure heaven. My only gripe and it isn't really a gripe, is that the grab irons are solid not separate parts. I can understand the simplification on their 48 scale kits but I'm a little mystified in 1/35. Anyhow, a pleasure to assemble, thanks for looking. Mark
  11. Hi All, I'd like to join this group build if I may, I have an Academy 1/72 P-38J in the stash waiting for inspiration like this Cheers, Mark
