  1. Lovely work! The Academy 1/72 Hornet portfolio seems to go from strength to strength; I would be most interested in your opinion of the new(ish) E. I found it a bit strange that they went all 'EzeeKit' with that and the F, instead of building on the strengths of their more conventional legacy birds. Especially as the Hasegawa ones are roughly the same money! It certainly looks a treat built up, though.
  2. Very sweet -the bikes look amazing, even down to the rear mechs and bar ends. So much so, they kinda eclipse the ol' ute!
  3. Animated emojis...that we should have lived to see such things!
  4. ...or possibly a towering Spinal Tap guitarist? That is a seriously wonderful and inspired piece of work.
  5. I could tell you how much I agree with that sentiment, but the universe ain't gonna last that long...!
  6. You're on fire, Sir! Afraid my modelling efforts amount to a damp squib at present... I never liked the 'buddy' layout of 2-hole Hunters, it ruined the aesthetics of a fine airframe for me. But the tandem arrangement -WAAAY better!
  7. Oh yeah -where was that again...?! I imagine Magnifico will be a CG effort -not an easy catch, since we all probably have a very definite idea what he should look like. And maybe the most interesting character in the trilogy?
  8. Coolio! Nice work on the angled wing-fold, looks a bit Demon-ic...
  9. I know exactly what you mean -apparently there are two more 'episodes' that are partly/mostly the work of Gentry Lee. I think they may lean heavily on some of Gene Wolfe's Book of The Long Sun for their scenaria. A desperate example of hope over experience, I still look forward to seeing what can be done with the Empire stories -of COURSE Seldon predicted it, like he predicted everything! Edit: Duh, got the wrong Sun there. Sorry.
  10. Stoatin'! I must say, your 'Helen' looks a lot better than the cartoony examples on two decal sheets I have (PrintScale and Kits World) -what decals did you use for her, if I may ask?
  11. ...nope, don't get the joke! If you want a bit of a giggle, my part-way Fujimi C ought to do the job; all you've done here is to produce a very nice piece of work that supports my conclusion about the Effix B. (Which is that I did the right thing getting the Attack Squadron conversion for it, so I can have a 1/72 'Roadrunner' without even more grief!)
  12. Very well conceived and 'animated', catching the moment perfectly. (The 'moment' being the one when Officer Ripley pre-empted Kylie Minogue by a good few years...! )
  13. Superb! Also nice to see a Hawg with other graphics than a sharkmouth or porker face on the nose; the Eagle suits it very well.
  14. Riiiight...things have been thinned, de-blocked and cleaned obsessively. Really this is the sort of tiresome work I'd pay one of the local Scout Troop the titular shilling (and, if I was in a particularly generous mood, a sharp cuff round the ear) to undertake for me during Bob-A-Job Week. Having to do it for myself, I find the mind wandering -usually to a number of unsavoury destinations, and sometimes to questioning whether one has always made the right decisions in life...and I think the blue scheme may be a wrong 'un. I mean, look at Joeltc's superb build here -worlds better, yes? TBH, I didn't like much about the '60s, but Heavy Metal Jets were a high spot! Oh yeah -Eduard Brassin at it's non-best: No matter; the ever-wonderful Petra is sorting this out for me. The Eduard Support facility is a model for others to follow... Working on the exhaust for a change over the weekend and may even have something worth posting next week.
  15. UA 098 looks very like it -I have two bottles in a drawer since God knows when, both dried up like the Atacama! It's still a bit iffy right now; I very rarely finish a build in the scheme I have in mind at the get-go. I'm leaning heavily towards the metal at the moment because of this thread...
  16. Very beautiful; I am looking at the Cigognes option from the Eduard kit right now as an alternative to the blue Seine one I was originally planning for the Mirage GB...not sure I can mix the right blue, and the Very Metal Mirage is sooo iconic! If ever there was a bolt of inspiration, it's here.
  17. Great start. The AIM-9Bs in the kit are unusable (crater-size ejector pin holes and mis-shaped front fins). Brassin ones ordered from the excellent and most reasonable heepdrutt on eBay (no connection, other than as a very happy punter!) Even now grinding down the doorstep-thick wings on the R-530...
  18. Many thanks, Sir -that is valuable info. Actually, I didn't really want to have an unpainted nose section... I think it looks better painted, but that is just a personal thing I guess. Yes, I caught the D-shape firing handle!
  19. Yes, it WORKS!!! Had to 'Open Image In New Tab' when right-clicking on the original PB icon, but otherwise just as described. Cheers Sir!
  20. I had been pondering the SujiboriDo ones that I saw on the HobbySearch site, but...not exactly cheap! The ones at modellingtools look more like regular blades; any alternative thoughts would be welcome.
