Nice job, I really need to get one of these, did the italeri one a while back -
I agree about the decals, it was the 1/72 EE lightning and I didn't get on with them at all, its why I went for the quick solution of pilot ink pen. Luckily I've had no bleeding issues with it but I'll definitely try spraying next time

Lovely job! Those don't walk lines look brilliant, I've never thought of spraying them before, did the last ones with a pen which kind of worked but wasn't brilliant

What's the story with the pink one? Was it civillian? -

Here's what I've been working on lately, the cockpit is complete and I'm about halfway through the engine build. Im hoping to display it with panels off and in a bit of a workshop diorama got the engine and cooling system constructed. There are a couple of gaps around by the radiator which will need filling but the rest if it fits well which is good considering how complex it is I know the copper bit at the front isnt accurate but i like the look of the copper ring on radial powered aircraft and it breaks the colours up a bit. I will weather it all a bit later on too. Also worth noting you do need to check the instructions before building the wing, they caught me out a couple of times! The wings are now glued together and ive done a dry fit of the fuselage halves. Got to say im enjoying this kit Undercarriage compartment detail Gun bay detail, needs final painting and some weathering i think i changed my mind and decided on closing up the radiator, a decision which has led to a few gaps. There are a couple of small gaps elsewhere to fill due to my fitting im sure, not the kit and ive also got the tail assembled Got some filler and more glue in the post so work is on hold till they arrive

Righty ho thought I'd give this thread an update, been busy land rovering so modelling has been on the back burner I've painted the deck which gives the model another dimension I think, it looks good, especially in contrast with the wooden deck. (I know theres grey on the white paneling but it needs painting white again anyway. I've also been busy building the bridge. The guns are what you get with the platinum model. Its the first time I've ever used Photoetch so they're a bit wobbly It needs filler where it joins to the floor (Its not glued in place yet, just on top of the wheelhouse temporarily) I've got to say this is one of the most enjoyable kits to work on, yes the detailing isnt fantastic as its an old kit but its fun to build Sam
