  1. Working on the Italeri kit - interesting helo. Have looked at the Svezda version too- both have some inaccuracies, but a nice general outline -- I'm finding it helps to check out the Walkaround photos on the Internet. A notable feature of the Kamov- it's one of the few helos with an ejection seat. The rotors blow off, then the panel above the seat, and then the seat goes "bang"--- !
  2. Great thread for a USN fan ! What about a black base coat? Any thoughts?
  3. By "black basing" are you referring to "preshading" by spraying black along the panel lines?
  4. Got too keep an eye on this one-- lots to learn from the sidelines, although time will never allow trying to achieve this level of skill- ! It's a delight to see an example of what can be accomplished in this World of Plastic, though !!
  5. Interesting thread ! I am about to try my first armor project - usually do aircraft - and will be following along with you - especially need to learn how you go about painting and weathering - !
  6. Beautifully done - I'm wanting to try my first armor project and have this kit - it was recommended as pretty easy, which is how I want to start. Your build is an inspiration ! I wanted to check out your work in progress thread, but the link above doesn't work for me? Does it need updating? Or has it been removed? Would love to see it ----------!
  7. Great fun to follow your builds, Bill ! And I have the extra pleasure of being able to look forward to seeing these beauties "for real" at the club meetings. I tend to lurk, more than to join in- but be assured, I wouldn't want to miss these threads -- learn new clues with each project you do ! Was a bit confused , must admit, by your description of paint mixing. You use lacquer thinner with enamels as well as with acrylics to thin and to clean up ?
  8. Superb paint job ! I like the absolutely neat framing of the windows and the metal of the rotor and the realistic interior----!
  9. Nice job! I like the soft edges on the camo painting---
  10. Incredible realistic effect---you make that Harrier look like it is really made of metals , is ready to blast off, and only needs the pilot to climb in and start that thing up--- very convincing !!
  11. You made plastic look like natural metal -- nicely done !
  12. Nicely done -- I Share welkin77's interest in the paints you used for this one--
