  1. Hi All, I've just finished these two. The QLD I did a few weeks ago and I've just finished the QLT today. It's my first attempt at "weathering" with Humbrol powders (Inverted commas as really all I've done is try and add a bit of mud here and there) and I'm quite pleased with the product but I feel I need more practice with them. Cheers Steve
  2. Excellent work, something to be proud of. Well done :-)
  3. Looks fantastic! Another kit to add to my to-do list. Well done Steve
  4. Hi all, Not managed many builds recently, life gets in the way! Been dipping my toe back in now and then, and here is my most recent build: I've just noticed a few things like the rear brake hose not running along the swingarm to the master cylinder, so I'll sort that out... and one mirror was sacrificed to the Gods of scale modelling, you know how these things sometimes go! Overall I'm pleased with the build and looking forward to more 1:12 bikes in the future. However next in line are some 1:76 Bedford trucks and possibly a 1:72 Lancaster if nothing creeps in after the trucks! Thanks guys, Steve
  5. Lincoln's not too bad, transport isn't an issue but was made redundant in December so I'm limiting how far I travel at the minute until I find a new job. Laceby's on my doorstep, I'm in Ulceby near Keelby. Thanks again for the info re: tracks, I'll take a look around and see what I can dig up! Steve.
  6. Shermaniac, thank you for your input! 1. I will certainly look into a replacement gun barrel. Kit inaccuracies aside, I'm not happy with the way I've repaired it, anyway. 2. The tracks aren't fantastic, I'll try adding some weights as you have suggested, is it possible to get the Dragon Magic Tracks or equivalent to fit? They look much better! 3. Great, thanks, I'll set about correcting this as soon as possible! I am not sure if there are any clubs nearby, but I'd certainly consider joining one if there was! I'm still very much new to this and I'm learning something different from this forum and other sites every single day. Thanks again, Steve.
  7. Evenin' all! Third completed build since I got into the hobby, I don't think it's too bad, but could be better, the very tip of the gun snapped off for starters so had to glue it back on to the best of my ability...not great! Also the colour is slightly wrong. I have some weathering things in the post on their way to me so the tank is complete for the time being but I am hoping to have it weathered (along with the BMW in my other thread) by next weekend. It will be my first attempt at weathering too, so I'll post some pics up when it is done and hopefully I don't make a complete mess of it! Thanks guys, Steve. P.S Sorry for the poor image quality.
  8. Thanks for all the kind words guys, means a lot. Steve
  9. Thanks! Yeah, got a rider, passenger and two soldiers on foot, I've got these assembled and partially painted, taking a trip into town tomorrow to see if I can find a suitable skin colour.
  10. Go easy guys, first completed build! I really underestimated the size of this one when I picked it up in the shop. It fits in the palm of my hand with room to spare! Now, it's completed, but I fear only for the time being. I painted it with only 1 brush and I've just spotted one of them Eduardo detailing kit thingy's on the Bay so I'm tempted to pick one up and get some finer brushes, go to town detailing it, and adding some scratches and things. I'm quite impressed for saying it's my first attempt, things can only get better! A million and three miles to go before I reach the standard of some of you guys, (if ever!). Cheers, Steve.
