Hello everybody hope you all well, Sorry I've not been on for a while had the flu bug, Ken thankyou for correcting my mistake I'm not up-to speed with Russian classes of aircraft carriers, I knew the PLAN had the Minsk and assumed that is what had been converted but to make the Minsk a museum and then buy a Liaoning (CV16) is the ex-Varyag/Kuznetsov class. Spending billions of dollars on conversion and flying ur latest supersonic jets of the deck it seems to be a menu for a loaded gun but who is going to get the bullet,? There navy now has some of the most sophistacated ships afloat with awsome weapons systems, And now with there long range ballistic missile test I now have my fingers crossed that December 21st passes without incident and that little french village is just another premanition gone by like another day, ? Any how back to model ships, The Shenzhen has now two running propellars i'm trying to tune the engine to the right level of sound been greasing the gears so they mesh smoother less of the plastic grinding sound, I'm thinking of using a all in one car remote control has they have battery boxes fitted and of-course there own servos it's a case of mounting the unit and attaching the rudders and stearing rods (Rudders now mounted) I've tested the boat in the bath resolved leaks from prop shafts her thrust from props is quite good hopefully she wont be too fast on a boating lake, Now regarding the Kilo class submarine build now I've up-dated my operating from windows ME yes i know i'm a bit of a dinosour on windows operating systems now installed windows XP pro so i'll try to insert piccys as soon as ive installed Photo bucket in my XP pro, In the mean time if you wish to see the build please send your e:mail address with note KILO CLASS SUB BUILD and i will send piccys of the build upto the finished Submarine, Anyhow got to get on hopefully see you all after the 21st glamshooter

Hi Shar 2 thanks for your piccys of Sovremany looks awsome, The thing is about the Sovremany it has a look of a proper destroyer, bristling with modern weponry it looks the part for displaying, Shame it's Russian and now China has the Sovremany program (Which i have a 1/700 Fuzhou 137 to include in my 1/700 Atlantic fleet) Sorry to waffle on my Sovremany should be with me tomoro with DPD delivery realy looking forward to starting the build, And looking forward to seeing your 1/200 version Shar 2, regards glamshooter

Right now onto cunning plan d,e,f or what ever lol I've aquired a Shenzhen 167 i will build as kit is and i'm aquiring another Shenzhen and as they are modular built i'm going to remove the heliport hangar and lay down a plated deck for refuel and amo supply of helicopters and move the guns and missiles on the mid section and re-arrange the radar o,k i know this ship does not exist yet but this class of destroyer was built as modular for training and ability to adapt for a war situation so this will be my training ship for helicopter at sea training, Please let me have your views thanks, Now what can cunning plan g,h ,i ,j ,k / what can be next? mmm need a pint or two to think about this lol regards glamshooter

Shar your Kilo build looks cool, o,k i'll build this Trumpy kilo class 636 in 1/144th, Cunning plan C lol, i have asked the shop to see if they can get a Shenzhen in 1/200th for me as it is a nice modern ship too display, Again i built this ship but left it when i got divorced having to sell the house and moving to a smaller place, glamshooter

Hello you people thankyou taking your time to reply, Niall what beautifull job you've done on your sovremany in fact ive dropped cunning plan A because it is such a high standard build and looks so good and very well detailed, Shar 2 I've moved to cunning plan C and bought a TRUMPETER 1/144th scale Russian Kilo Class Attack Submarine cost £15.99p with marking for TYPE 636 sold to China which are designed for Anti submarine (ASW) and anti-surface ship (ASuW) warfareas well as for general reconnaissance and patrol missions and is very stealthy, Which is easy to build and a good line for looking at in display so i will be able to give time to this project, I bought this model from Thunderbird model's 60 Lee Lane Horwich, Bolton, Lancs, BL6 7AE Tel: 01204 699148 website: www.thunderbirdmodels.co.uk The lady in the shop was very nice and helpful also recomended a good caffee cald the Corner Cafe makes a good breakfast and a brew, Thunderbird models is a worth while shop to visit closes half day closing wednesday 12.30 I'll keep you posted on the Kilo class build and hopefully post some piccys of the build, glamshooter

Shar I've found the Sovremany Bronce kits but the cost of buying a Sovremany £80, But my cunning plan is cheaper to buy the radio cotrolled Sovremany £40 size Length 780mm, Width 90mm, Height 210mm with a paint job and some stencil numbers could be a cunning plan? Hello people, Well the land of the rising sun has risen there fleet qouta is growing fast and big but we've had this before remember 1940 the german navy new technology with fleets of new ships then they had to try them out we now know as WW11 perhaps i'm panicking, But i mean you don't spend billions of dollars without wanting to use them for a reason? It's gonna be fun building the new China fleet in 700th scale it is just the Shenzen 167 seems to be a problem to obtain in 1/700th, The list for a fleet as i calculate as follows Sovremany 965 program Fuzhou Minsk aircraft carrier number 16 Chinas PLAN with Sukoi / J15 jets And there is a stealth fighter for carrier born operations Shenzen 167 type 051B Luhai class (if a 1/700th available) this would make a amazing Asian modern naval diarama i'm tempted to start this project my self but have enough on my plate with my CVA-01 project, I have built the Shenzen in 1/350th or 1/200th forgot which but was a amazing ship to build and put on show and a Sovremany both ships together looked aw-some, Look forward to your feed back, glamshooter,

Hello people thankyou again for your time to input on here, Giorgio N, I think i understand regarding USAF Pilots and planes use on British CVAs but during my naval days we was encouraging transatlantic relations visiting various US bases in U,K meeting and exchanging crews on certain ships so it may have been a possibility to have seen a vigilantie on a CVA there was one occasion where USS ENTERPRISE during a British naval exercise when the Bullwark was put in dry dock due to a Russian spy trawler getting too close and running into her bows this was a transatlantic relations to see if both navys could work together i think this was Operation Sea Orbit, Whilst Enterprise was outside pompy harbour there where Harriers on trials flying onto the deck of the Enterprise and taking off I understood for later cross trials at sea, During this eara there where rumours of Vigilantes leaving the deck of the Enterprise and the rear bomb cone coming adrift and a A bomb suddennaly skidding across the deck and flight deck crews diving every where in fear of armagedan, Yes there where problems but at this time the future was good and anything was possible we used to have a saying ("The impossible we over come but miracles take a little longer") so to have an extra 10 tons on a TSR2 on a carrier was just impossible not a miracle lol,

Hello Giorgio N, but in the end the Vigilante was used for a very little time in this role and in the end the proper deterrent role was given to missile armed SSBNs. Therefore, I'm skeptical about the CVA01 carrying anything like a Vigilante or a TSR.2 Well Again i've got to agree Giorgio, wish the Royal Navy had a fleet of SOVREMENYS, who let the Japaneese buy the 956 program, the royal navy would be foo-bared if they had to challenge them in a hostile situation why couldn't we have bought the 956 program / oh yeah goverment cut-backs
