  1. Thanks all, I'll let you know the outcome.
  2. Thanks chaps, as you say what have i got to lose, except a few quid. I'll get the cockpit for the Tamiya and test my modelling skills if it needs a little persuasion to fit properly.
  3. Hi All. I've messed up the canopy on my 1/48 Revell Mosquito. I glued the blister side windows using normal polystyrene glue, which has caused the joint to 'bloom' (if that's the right word). I think I need to get a vacform replacement, but having trouble finding one for the Revell model. I have found them for the Tamiya kit, but I don't know if it will fit okay. Does anyone know? thanks
  4. Thanks all for your answers. I feel that I have a very steep learning curve ahead, but picked up a lot over the last couple of weeks. So far I have been using brushes to paint my pre assembled parts, and its going okay. ive even done some basic weathering of the landing gear bays! I want to use an airbrush to paint all of the outside surfaces, but haven't got one yet, so whole load of stuff to learn in that area as well. pte1643 and Giorgio N appreciate your answers on the colours, I will look into getting them..
  5. Hi Troy Thanks for trying to answer, I appreciate that I probably did ask too many questions at once. I guess I was hoping that someone who had already built this kit could point me in the right direction. I ended up buying six humbrol acrylic colours to get started - Matt black, silver, oxide red, RAF interior green, yellow and red. Ive never used acrylic before, but so far im not impressed. They seem quite thick and dont settle down to a nice even coat after drying. The RAF Green is giving the best finish, but the silver is dreadful. It 'pulls back' and gives a patchy finish. I think it will be back to the old enamels of my youth< and the cleaning thinners!
  6. Hi. I'm building a 1/48 Revell Mosquito. Ive done about as much of the pre-assembly as I can before starting on painting. Ive looked at various examples on the web of completed models, and it looks like there is a whole of paint colours that I need. I'd really appreciate some thoughts, recommendations, suggestions on the colours I'll need, best paints to use, etc. Been away from modelling for a loooooooonnnngggg time so starting from scratch. Thanks, all advice welcomed. John
