  1. 100% GPMG could be door mounted in all RAF Sea Kings (Yellow and Grey). It was one of my jobs to fit the pintle mount and GPMG at RAFSKTU (RNAS Culdrose). We use to take out barrels, drop them in the sea as target practice. They never stood a chance. As far as I am aware, you are correct in that it was a standard UK Sea King fit.
  2. I would like to build a kit of everything I worked on in my Royal Air Force career. The aircraft are no problem but I am struggling with my 1st posting. As an aircraft avionics technician I was posted to RAF Mountbatten to work on marine craft! I am trying to find kits/plans of the following Her Majesty's Air Force Vessels Rescue Target Towing Launch Mk.3 (RTTL) Long Range & Recovery Support Craft (LRRSC) 63ft General Service Pinnace Any help gratefully received

  6. Do you ever lose respect for an author so much that you stop reading a book immediately ...... And I quote "The Red Army had it's own tanks, the T-34s (American designed and probably the best tank of the war)" I can accept the BT series were designed around the J Walter Christie tank, but to claim the T-34 was American is a stretch ....... as they produced the M3 and M4 for their own troops. Who is this author Stephen E Ambrose of Band of Brothers fame. The book Citizen Soldiers: The US Army from Normandy to the Bulge
  7. Still waiting for my 1/24 Henschel Hs 123, Gloster Gladiator and Hawker Fury (biplane)
  8. Can I throw in the Short twins, Stirling (with bomb trolley and tractor) and Sunderland. No doubt someone will point out that there are better Italeri offerings, but the joy of building these two is what the thread is about.
  9. I have a Chesire Volunteer figure which I am trying to identify. I have the manufacturer code BW2, I'm assuming it is Bundeswehr but other than that I have nothing. Any help in identifying would be gratefully appreciated. TIA
