  1. thank you very much for the info.greatly appreciated
  2. was just looking through youtube and came across a video of the patrouillie de france flying 12 dasault mystere iv a in formation and it got me thinking.does anyone know if decals for this were ever or still are produced.would like to have 1 on the shelf.was also thinking of using the matchbox kit as its still easy to find and wont take forever to build, thanks.
  3. definatly staying away from the hasegawa kit.might try and find an esci kit or 2 to go with the fujimi kit....might as well build the whole team...in for a penny in for a pound as the saying goes
  4. is the hasegawa kit really that bad.never had the pleasure of seeing it up close
  5. thanks for the replies guys.the shop where I got it has atleast 1 more....might get it and build "no 1" and "no7"
  6. just picked this kit up today and from what I can see it seems to be identical to a hasegawa kit in terms of the kit instructions and also the fact that it is moulded in dark blue plastic .can anyone confirm if this is indeed a hasegawa kit....not a big deal,im just curious thanks
  7. if you can findit you should try and find a copy of a book called "yamaha dirt bikes" by collin mckeller.the book came out in 1986 [try amazon,e-bay or second hand book shops].i have it and it tells the story of all yamaha 2 and 4 stroke mx,enduro, trail and and off road play bikes from 1968 up to 1986 and has a wealth of info on the real bike that your model depicts
  8. are the parts moulded in the correct colours?.i had both the 1/12 scale tamiya honda cr 250 and suzuki rm 250 mx models some years ago and if memory serves me right they didnt need painting as they were moulded in the correct colour plastic....build straight from the box,put decals on and job done....while on the subject of these model bikes does anyone know if the rm and cr 250 mx bike models are still in production
  9. i had the same problem with maxdecals, however after coating them with micro decal film [gave them 2 coats just to be sure but 1 coat would probably been fine] they worked fine and even using micro set and sol didnt affect them.they turned out just fine so i recommend you get micro decal film and coat your decals with it
  10. thank you for the advice my friend, much appreciated
  11. i have just finished using a combination of micro decal film [2 coats which i applied a while back] and micro set and sol on my maxdecals iac hawk and i could not have hoped for better results
  12. cheers johnd.will see if my local shop have it when im in there 2mrw
  13. yep,i agree.why cant kit manufactures make the kit parts pre painted especially if they only offer 1 decal option in the kit.i have tried a few times with the blue paint on my frecce tricolori mb 339 and the paint always streaks even if i use a new brush and a new tin of thinners to clean the brush.we go to the effort of building the kits only to have them "ruined" because paint wont go on properly
