  6. I'm trying to find out WW1 paints made in Italy, i 1st notice when buying modeled magazine so i brought some tinlets which were good too, so my question is who made them and if still available to buy, thanks in advance 👍
  7. Hi All I think theres loads of models that need retooling or replacing, but cost do count thou, for as HGV delivery driver, i seen the bulk prices that are going around makes me wounder why Airfix are dead set on increasing their prices just look at the beaufighter and whitley different mark/prices, for me R&D money is dead money, the profit is on the model it's self so they av to chose the best sellers for profits, What i dont agree is the big gap in prices for the Whitley ((and the very high price for the Victor yet weight wise theres not much more than of the Shack')), yet the 'new' Whitley is the same mold with extra spuce plus all the holes to be opened for the anti sub' version - hint to CMK AEROCLUB Eduard etc for improvment sets, remember the bulk prices are ordered far in advance(12-24 mths even longer for continuous supply) even while they being tooled/made in China/ India. As for choice for 'wants' i agree with most on here to see alot models made, plus for me aswell its the Tristar(some was made in the 80/90's), Comet, Hastings, Andover/HS748, Sentinal, Viking, Voyager C17(New plastic version model out next yr), HS 146 and Defender, then there's a big gap in WW I two seaters(mainly German) plus inter war types too(FAIRY IIIf, gorden, hart, seal,, demon, Glebe, gamecock, Siskin, flycatcher) also dont forget the helicopters - skeeter, Wasp/scout, there's one thing Airfix could do is copy Revell and buy WW1 1/72 & 1/48 RFC/RAF aircraft molds from Roden/toko/eastern express and up date them? plus a very nice DH 10, Vimy to complement the 0/400 even a 0/100 (different engines are also the main parts to replace). Airliners wise theres not much to make as both Revell and Zveda covered the market, for Military wise their 1/48 models would be nice in 1/72 as theres also gaps in for the British Army vehicles they could fill too, I would also like to see a range of sailing ships to the same scale here you buy as a model but theres a collection to have too, this could set a new trend say in 1/144 even in 1/72
  8. Hi All Print scale have brought out a set of decals of Ni 17-24 in 1/72 and i think in 1/48 scale which include 'bob' markings too, hope this helps
  9. av airfix shackletons but after a revell one too, then i notice some remarks about the models, what faults each have and thinks is the better model revell's or airfix??
  10. Hi Alan A great build you done there, but i notice something which now answers my question ive had a while nowhence on this page!, a while back there was a improvement set which was a set of uncuff 'props' and engine cowls and wondered why as i knew the real ones had engine overheating problems even when the washington 1st came here the 1st one to land had outer starboard prop feathered also some washingtons had cuff prop's too, well anyway the photo you put up is of a head on shot(fifi?) showed two types of cowlings - from left to right - starbroad outer an port inner is one has type of air vent and the starbroad inner an port outer are a different type! on your model their the larger type of air vents which are the norm on later momogram/revell models ive got the 1st issue with the cuff propellers so modellers take note, Also if you using the radar dome by the bomb bays you can leave out the bunkbeds at the back as here the radar station was put - hope this helps when adding weights. again nice build Alan - oh also i pinch some of your work tips! george ps its on page 3/4 i think of your build
  11. Hi John Thanks for the info, had a look again yep more like 1/200 and yes triple tail biplane not engines, must of got it mix up with chinese CA.101 im reseaching, as for the Avro ive downloaded pictures and outline drawing(s), also i found theres replica been built so will check it out as it's look full size too, thanks again Barmybrumie PS ebay ref. no. 201589345653
  12. Hi All Im looking for info on the 1/72 Avro F (C.A.Atkins model), im in need of any detailed 'cockpit' pictures or diagrams that i can download, Also anyone know of the aircraft list produce by C.A.Atkins, im told he done different scales? as ive have a chance of buying another which looks like the trip engine airliner as used in John Wayne's flying tigers at 1/144?scale regards
  13. A really nice model, but ive seen a photo (aeroplane mthy or 70's airfix mag or later) which shows work on a hurricane under scrim cover which gave dark shadows like whats on the model that was being worked on, but on the otherside of the coin both hurricanes(1 or 2 sqn's) and fumars( least 2sqn's) had their leading edges painted in light colour (gray?) over which sand and spinach was put on to deceive when on approaching, of which when you look at some pictures there two colours being used (warpaint fumar shows some great pictures) hope this helps/ or confuse more! G.
  14. Hi Obsessed members I thought that ICM was a retooled/up dated Maquette model which had alot of faults but with work can be ok thou, if i remember right in FineScale modeller, a scratch build was done using Harry Woodman info/tips/notes plus plans, av one myself if i can find it! Also theres still Lya Muromets windsock info/plans on sale both on ebay and at windsock if that helps B.Brumie
  15. hya I just brought from ebay three sets of 1/72 russian transfers for the N 11, 21 and type 'N' these are from 'Begemot' who do these in 1/48 and 1/32 scale too, but to answer your question they did do one for 'bob' only, but ive just looked on ebay with no luck thou, only thing i can suggest is a seach on the web for 'begemot decals pictures' download what you need then print on clear decal sheets(ebay), I'm also doing IRAS up to the civil war, im only after the resin models now (a lotto win would help with prices), 'Obsessed member' has covered most of them for you. One question, what was the colour/tone of the fabric for DUK? aircraft i got the impression it was similer to the french a yellow/mustard colour, the murometz (source Harry Woodman) being a creamie/white. regards barmybrumie
