Okay, both models are simply incredible. If I might offer a small critique, the invasion stripes look a bit too neat. The invasion stripes tended too look quite rushed, and I think it would be noticeable at this scale. As said, this suggestion is only meant to add some information to an already highly informative thread, and they both look amazing as they are.

I can't imagine there's much difference in the two Airfix kits, the old one had an accurate outline, and the new one should be very similar. I seem to remember the Matchbox one having a very wide fuselage though.

Or the military applications are appealing. Being able to resupply our new carrier battlegroups while at sea, or a carrier based AEW / Refueling platform.

Lovely model. It's such a shame this never got past the prototype stage, the design had such potential.

Great model of a great aircraft. It's a shame that none survive in Raf colours, I think there are only 2 malcom hood Mustang IIIs left.

I'm sure I once read somewhere that Airfix have what are considered the among most accurate surviving drawings of the Stirling. One thing that people often seem to get wrong is the shape of the nose, it slopes steeply between the cockpit and front turret on the real aircraft.
