  1. I`m waiting for the postie to deliver mine. The moulded on handles on the rear decks would have been better if they weren`t as high as the real ones sit flush and lift out for use. The moulded on tools will be replaced by AFV Club Cent kit spare parts. An alternative for the DS tracks is to get a set of resin tracks from AA. Chris Meddings of Inside The Armour has measured the turrets, both real and kit, and found a lot of errors, some of which will be difficult to rectify. The end result, with all it`s faults, though, does look like a Conqueror Mk2 so for most folk it isn`t a disaster. It is just like their Saladin kit, very over-priced for what you get in the box.
  2. Vickers MkVI Matilda 11 Some A13 Cruisers were there too Austin Tilly Austin 8hp Tourer Most types of Early British Trucks Some Universal Carriers, too. Bofors 40mm AA Guns. Various Staff cars.
  3. I used it to build my version of a French Jeep in the Suez Campaign.
  4. There is a web-site that might help, ANDY`S FRENCH MILITARY JEEP SITE. http://www.m201.com
  5. The Italeri 1/24th scale Jeep builds up into a nice model. I can recommend it.
  6. The gun is the FM24/29, and is mounted on a swivelling mount. The British Airborne troops fitted what ever type of tyre they could get their hands on in Egypt in the early 50`s, so I would imagine that the French did too. You will find one of these guns in the Italeri Commando Car kit.
  7. You can use the Aussie kit to do a British Cent and you can use the rear fuel tank as they were fitted, the tank mark was given the suffix LR when they were fitted, ie Mk5/1LR. You may have to find some side skirt to add as the Aussie kit doesn`t come with any, but the gun barrel is ok for a Mk5, Mk5/1 or a back-dated Mk3. You will need a 105mm barrel for a Mk5/2, Mk6, 6/1, 6/2 or 11. The needed rear track-guards are also in the Aussie kit.
  8. You could backdate the AFV Club Cent kit or use the old Tamiya kit. Tamiya Cromwell, up-dated to MkVII. Centaur Dozer, using Tamiya Cromwell kit and Accurate Armour conversion. Tamiya Churchill Crocodile. Miniart Daimler Dingo Mk111. Any of the available Churchill ARV Mk11`s. Universal Carriers. Daimler Armored Car Churchill Bridgelayer Any M26 Pershing kit. Dragon M46 Patton. M4A3E8 M32 ARV. M24 Chaffee. M3 Half-tracks M8 and M20 Armoured cars. M39 Armored Utility Vehicle. M19 AA vehicle. M4 Dozer Tank M45 Tank. ( An up-gunned M26). LVT-3 Amtrak. M29 Weasel. M41 SPH. LVT-4(A). M7 Priest. M43 SPH. M40 SPH. M36B2. M37 SPH. A lot of these are available in kit form, some are not.
  9. According to an article by Steve Zaloga, Tamiya XF-62 Olive Drab is the closest to the real thing.
  10. Yes you can, just ignore the specific IDF parts. The kit has almost every thing to build any Cent from Mk5-Mk11.
  11. No there weren`t due to the fact that the IDF DIDN`T use the Dragon Wagon.
  12. When it comes to painting vehicle tarps/tilts I use Tamiya XF-51 Khaki Drab and when suitably weathered it looks the part.. XF-49 Khaki is a good mixing colour to add a bit of variation Hope this helps. Malc.
  13. Frontline miniatures did a 1/15th scale Jeep in resin with a few white metal parts, I have one on the shelf above my head, I got it in a trade, it has been started but is buildable. It also has a Bantam Trailer in the box but the chassis for this is missing, shouldn`t be too hard to scratch one though. Verlinden also did a 1/16th resin Jeep which was a little better than the Frontline kit, it did at least come with an engine.
  14. Some joker stole one. 5th man from another crew.
