  1. That's affirmative... and when I look at the kit decals after using Col's, I realise just how bad they are. There's something REALLY weird about the kit 8s, as if they're from a whole different font. The fin flash is fuzzy round the edges, and the colors are just HORRIBLE! It's a shame that no-one released some AM decals covering the airframe specifics such as the stencils, squadron badges & other such vagaries. Maybe someone will now there's a better chance of Airfix bringing one out?
  2. Yeah... it's been fun once I'd got all the scribing done. Mind you, I've spotted a few panel lines that I'd missed, but there's on the underside so I'm going to let them stay that way
  3. Pish £45 to ship one to the UK, or wait for a UK stockist to get it for about £43
  4. Thanks Andy... I know panel lines on 1:72 V-Bombers aren't your thing, but they are mine You see the V was a nickname describing the big trenches cut all over the airframes to make the panel divisions stand out better in photos
  5. The bit round the edges, you cheeky puppy!
  6. It's the old tendons getting tired... I've been thinking about getting one of those work holders, but I can't see that much use for one, even though they're cheap enough. Aircraft parts tend to be odd shapes
  7. I preferred it green! Nice job on the canopy... you missed a bit though Is that your Jammydog micro masking tape? I used mine for the first time the other day, and I'm liking it
  8. Don't we all? I could do with a haircut too about now
  9. Curiously enough, I've just used that same phrase in my Valiant thread! Doesn't sanding make your arms ache? It makes my weak & feeble hands ache from gripping the stick & the item I'm sanding
  10. ... wash on, wash off Daniel San I'll have another look at it in daylight & remove any excess wash that's lying round, assess it for contrast, and if it's ok, Klear it
  11. Bonjour tout le monde! J'ai been panel line washing the Valiant this evening... real life intervened today & stopped me getting any work done Fret not! I'll wash the excess off later, once it's dry....
  12. Just as soon as I can find something non-squashable to send it in
  13. You did a fine job on that Dave... those FOD guards really bring it to life
  14. Smashing work Pappy... especially the cockpitery & the pilotry
  15. I read that first time & thought "so?", then re-read it & noticed the PR bit Just to add that we're ALL guilty of some of these faux pas, with me being no exception. My Valiant has rescribed panel lines which could quite easily trip a maintenance technician if he wasn't paying attention, but to the majority of modellers (and viewers), being able to see the panel lines adds interest & looks kind of right. Those that disagree are just as "right", but as it's a hobby, I'll continue to do as I please
  16. 2nd time lucky then! Looks good matey, and those invasion stripes look kind of "hand painted" - don't take that as a criticism... they just look authentic
  17. Best bit is that I can do another one, only a camo bird when the Airfix kit comes out in 2010
  18. Those oil stains look good mucka, as do the scuff marks off the pilot's jackboots Come on lad! Let's have a race to the finish! My Valiant against your 190
  19. Wing tanks now push-fit on with a brass pin... It was quite harrowing drilling two holes in the wings at this late stage!
  20. Well Sean.. I've told you before I'm not that sort of boy
  21. I'll get it together for you tomorrow hopefully sonny jimlad
